Only turned twenty last month and only has 11 league starts in his career. It wouldn't be a surprise if we were the club, but it's not an exciting signing. I would hope we'd be looking at league one and league two players who have played 100+ games in the lower leagues and have proven history like when we used to sign guys like Hourihane, Winnall and Mawson.
I agree but every clubs caught us and players like that cost money now. Take ivan toney for example id love him here but well out of our price range.
Well the players that perform well for us aren’t out of other clubs similar and in some cases smaller stature than us price ranges, ie Keifer and Pinnock
Probably some truth in that. Did a quick search of the highest valued league one central defenders who are under 23...... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lea...//galerie/0?pos=&detailpos=3&altersklasse=u23 I now predict we will go for Elliott Moore from Oxford..... https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=95978 Came through a premier league academy, 22 years old and spent two years playing mens football in Belgium. 6ft 5 and represented England at a couple of different age groups. This season in 19 games he has been involved in 8 clean sheets already including against a premier league team he scored against in the league cup. He had been involved in five clean sheets in a row before they played Man City the other night and he hasn't been in a defence that's let in two or more goals in a game for two and a half months.
Conwy when he’s our only signing in January: we were absolutely determined to listen to the head coach and bring some much needed experience into the back line. Jack Turner is a veteran defender at under 12 level where he was an ever present before playing a handful of games at under 16 level where he won the most promising player at gillingham high school award. Yes we know fans are disappointed at the sale of Alex Mowatt for an undisclosed fee but rest assured every penny went into recruiting Jack who our statisticians have identified as being the best player in his age group for his local high school. This makes him one of the oldest talents in the side but we still believe he has a lot to offer in the twighlight of his career. I think we can safely say this has been the greatest transfer window in the clubs history
he signed a new deal with the Gills yesterday - Not to say he wont move in January anyway but still makes it look less likely he will
