Why is criticising Israel deemed to be anti semitic

    To some, mentioning the crimes against humanity committed by the state of Israel is as illegal as uttering the word "experience" in front of our board. Tread carefully!

    I would say not, maybe anti-Zionist.
    Whilst I have nothing against the Jewish religion or it’s followers (at least no more than I am against religion in general), the state of Israel has a lot to answer for in terms of human rights etc. But then again the Palestinians are no angels either. The Middle East is and always has been a region of conflict, in no small measure as a consequence of religion.

    Spot on. There are very few black and white issues in the world and the middle east certainly isn't one of them.
    It's hard to wear kid gloves when someone's stated aim is to wipe you out. Nevertheless some of the things the state of Israel does are and have been despicable and self defeating.

    My next door neighbour is from Palestine and whenever I receive post addressed to "the occupier" I always post it through his letterbox.

    The Gaza is a ghetto with a sea blockade and hemmed in on land. It is only the military wing of Hamas that want a military defeat of Israel. There are thousands of Palestinian Christians in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza subjected to persecution. Some years ago there was a Palestinian Christian Minister and a Messianic Jew (Christian) who was also a minister in Barnsley. Both would tell of horrific stories of persecution carried out by the Israeli government.

    Palestine was chopped in half in 1948. Half was given to the new state of Israel(Jewish) and the other half was given to the original occupying country of Palestine(Arabs). It's no wonder the Palestinians are a bit pissed off. And guess who created this mess ?

    The Balfour declaration was the start of what has been a very myopic approach to the middle east. It is a shame that a rational debate about the middle east seems to be impossible. The world is run by the likes of Goldman Sachs & it will never happen.
