I’ve never been nasty or vindictive. I have (and still am to be honest) concerned about the way the club is being run. But I will say that things are looking brighter, and today we were much better than the league leaders.
I wasnt suggesting you had been nasty or vindictive. it was a general comment. having had a quick gander at a few of your recent and previous posts maybe now you might think that there are actually three worse teams than us in this league?
The negativity shown previously was fully justified and Conman and Chien still have January to negotiate so don't get too far ahead of yourself. Struber deserves a lot of praise for getting this side organised and changing their mindset. Let's hope he's not badly let down come 31st January.
How was it justified? its still the same players we signed in the summer.I think the fact that you call one of our board Conman comes over as a negative comment.Aren't you pleased the way these players are developing.
West Brom were scared of us today and started wasting time and running the clock down after 30 minutes. Incredibly disappointing tactics for a team sitting top of the table against a side in the bottom three. Bilic should be ashamed of himself. Their negativity thankfully only got them a point and they didn’t deserve that. The Barnsley team were outstanding and fully deserved to get something from the game. Definitely a moral victory if not an actual win.
I still think we should persevere with wilkes, he deserves as much time as thiam has had thats for sure.
I'm a happy clapper, never leave before the end, always stay to applaud and I've never booed the reds. However I think our current run is a blip and we'll go down this season, well before the final few games. I'll still renew next season. I enjoy watching my team, but if we lose I'm not suicidal. It's football and life is much more important than 90 minutes of sport.Don't get me wrong, I go mental when we score and a win perks me up. I just refuse to let the losses get me down.
Of course I am pleased but these players should never have been put in that position to start with. The plan has changed even from when Cryne owned the club in that we are signing younger players with far less experience. At least under Cryne we were signing players from L2/L1 who seemed to have 100/150 games under their belt before they arrived at Oakwell. Just because of a few positive results it isn't now a of case of "I told you so", IMO results will be up and down for the rest of the season but I just hope that we don't sell anyone in January including Woodrow. Maybe if we add a bit of experience then we can survive but it is going to be a really tough challenge given the shocking start to the season. For what's its worth I don't trust Conway or Chien Lee but let's see what happens during January. Struber is doing a fine job and deserves full backing from all supporters and the board.
I'm not getting ahead of myself. just stating my opinion. I will make two predictions however. 1. Cauley and Alex will not get sold in January. 2. we will stay up.
Hope so mate! If we keep those two and can add a bit of experience then with Struber at the helm we can do it.
I was ao gutted earlier on as im sure u guys were. But last 6 games we have shown some class and less mistakes. If we play like have in last 6 in final 20 odd we have a fair chance of escaping the drop. Fair play to players and Mr Struber. COYRs
A lot of teams will be looking at Brown. I think he is the best prospect we have. Needs to improve his finishing a bit, but is a hell of a player. Oduor has looked a world beater in the last 3 games too.
As in not a Barnsley/Baggies fan ( Coventry supporter). First half West Brom dominated, we came more into it 2nd half. A lot of our shots did go straight to the keeper too. Happy with the performance though
We were easily the best team over 90 minutes. They resorted to professional fouls, time wasting & putting men behind the ball to try & hold a lead we gifted them. To be fair in his post match interview Bilic said it was a fair result. He knew he was in a game today & if not for his keeper it would have been a home win.
What were you watching? Opinions are opinions but my impression backed up by the stats that we battered 'em in the 1st half where we had most chances (header coming off the bar being just one). Periera was a class apart giving the false impression they were on top midfield but in reality, apart from the gifted goal, Baggies created next to nothing.
It is literally only one game since late subs Luke Thomas and Patrick Schmidt, midfielder and forward, combined for an injury time winner! Our squad isn’t the best maybe no - but the main issues aren’t midfield and forward options. Our best centre forward isn’t playing there for a start.
I agree woodrow should be upfront..... Yes it was one game, but i think we have been lucky with injuries etc one or two injuries to a striker or midfielder and we'l see the issues. Thomas is obviously good enough to start and make a difference, schmidt i dont think is. An injury to mowatt and the midfield is non existent.
