https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/dec/28/chesterfield-relegation-national-league Wasn’t that long ago we played them at their new shiny ground
They got a mention on Football Focus yesterday. Said they could be looking at their third relegation in four seasons. They have got to hope that their manager John Sheridan finds a way to get them out of trouble, but it doesn't look good at the moment.
When I listened to him he said he was warned never to take on a non league club. Perhaps someone else needs to take over the reins. Critises his players to a degree that I would have thought they’ve lost respect for him.
Living Harrogate who play in the National League and taking notice of their results it’s VERY sobering how many teams I remember us playing turn up!
John Sheridan is allegedly the highest paid manager in both the Conference and L2. He was doing a nice job in L2 with Carlisle but went back to Chesterfield for the money that was on offer. He kept them up last season when it looked like they were doomed but this season has been another disaster, none of his signings have worked out and they are in a big mess both on and off the pitch. It doesn't help when they have Dave Allen at the helm...
After what dave allen did at Wednesday its no real shock whats happening at Chesterfield. Hes up their with P Riddy as footballs most terrible owners/chairman. You get what you deserve with him in charge...
Their team is a disgrace tbf. Going from the play offs in league 1 in 2014/15 to this is embarrassing, even though they were punching well above their weight in the league 1 play off spots. Don't feel too sorry for them though after the way our fans were treated at their stadium in 2015/16.
