He's not shown it at this level, he's 28 and had a significant injury since leaving, there's no way this board would touch him - he's not their type of signing at all. Plus he's absolute ****.

From some Wednesday fans @ work they would be happy to let him go, followed by the line ‘runs like he’s pulling a caravan’ after his bad injury
Wouldn’t be a great deal for us with SWFC wanting us to put a good slug of money towards wages.
Suspect he isn’t hungry like he was with us, very comfortable life etc etc playing once in a while.
He is a good goal scorer you can’t get away from it, however he gets his chance in the championship and isn’t setting the world alight what do we base our belief on that he will turn it on for us ????
Think he is L1, sunderland’s style of play won’t suit him, but they will prob stump you the wages.

Should never have them back once gone ( ready for the barrage on Hammill which he was the exception)

Remember when Ian Banks came back? Not the same player. The exceptions in my eyes are Adam Hammill and David Currie. Not that I wouldn't take Hourihane, Trippier and Stones back though lol

The effect on the dressing room would be neutralised by the introduction of industrial strength air fresheners!

I’d take him back in a heart beat, exactly the type of striker we need.

Really? I’d hope that the next striker we sign is more of a target man.

    Hope in vain pal.
Target men are a thing of the past.

If he can get fit again which is a big if he’s a good player to have for a team who sits in the relegation zone if the championship but it’s a risk given his last 2 seasons. A fit winnall will bag for fun in a half decent league one side.

He’s a brilliant goal scorer but I don’t really see how he fits into our system. He’s not going to start games as we’ve got a hardworking front 2 of Brown & Chaplin that Struber clearly favours over more of a natural goal scorer as Woodrow starts deeper & then we’ve got a player in Schmidt who’s limited in his all round game but can find the net on the bench.

If we do sign another striker my guess is it’ll be someone in the same kind of mould as Brown & Chaplin who suits Struber’s system than a goal scorer
