At the end there was what looked like a clear handball from a goal-bound effort. We never get these sort of decisions but if it had been the other way.....
Yea...at the time i thought it was a pen....then although there was vertually no replay...i was thinking .....oh well. If that was a prem game, there would have been VAR and a pen given, there was also the Diaby incident where the ball bounced off his knee onto his hand. That may have been given too....but their one was the more obvious.
The thing is though that with the rose tinted glasses taken off, his hand was by his side in a natural position. To have it closer to his side would be completely unnatural for a moving person.
But at the time people said it his his arm as he was moving it back down from an unnatural position. It can't be both can it?
I think it's a penalty, but I also think it happened too fast for the ref to make a decision on it. If he's not sure, and he can't have been, then he can't give the penalty. VAR, I believe, would have given it, but I don't want VAR, I hate it, so I can live with not getting this decision.
Wow! Jyst re looked at the incident (from twitter), im sorry im not clever enough to put it on here ....however...it is a penalty (imho), his arm is away from the side of his body and therefore in an unatural position and by the rules that is a penalty....even if its the old ball to hand. Like Jay says though ....i can live with this one....just hope we get another more favorable one soon.
We will never know. I thought it was a pen and the one on Diaby wasn’t but I can see why he didn’t give either. I suspect if you ask a Derby fan they would say neither were pens though.
If it had been in our penalty area, it would have been a penalty, a red card for the player involved and 3 match ban for McGeehan who was twiddling his thumbs at home at the time....
The reason I have my doubts is this screenshot As far as I can tell from the video that's the furthest his arm ever moves from his body but isn't that a completely natural position? If you are to say that's an unnatural position then in the interests of fairness you have to say that possibly Diabys arm was also in an unnatural position when it hit him although completely accidentally
I think it’s a penalty and from the screenshot just posted, the referee being directly behind it should be seeing it.
If thats the furthest his arm comes out then its no way a penalty, considering the speed the ball was moving aswel. Players dont go around with arms behind their back do they! If that was given against us we'd be unhappy.
