Why are some FA cup matches using VAR and some are not, doesn't seem fair to me. Should be all or nothing.

It’s bizarre Prem side at home VAR is used. Any other game it isn’t as you say it should be all or none

Its even worse in Super League, only televised games get it which I always thought was a piss take.

Spurs been held to a replay away at Boro because of no VAR. Fletchers goal would have been given as offside.

I've said that since they started using it, it simply isn't right or fair. But when as fair ever come into it?!

They said it was due to the fact there wasn't enough trained and certified VAR officials to cover all FA cup games.

In that case they shouldn't have used it at all to make it fair. Can't have different rules for the same competition.

Well either dont use it at all or say bring it in from the 5th round onwards for all matches -

hang on the numpties who sit spending hours trying to find reasons to disallow goals or send players off are trained! (certified I can believe)

Strange but true. I have a long list for my case against VaR and this adds to it.

well we have different rules within the same game let alone competition. This unfortunately is another one for my case against VaR. The game and the same events within it are refereed differently when VAR is in place. Microscopic views of a slight trip aren’t analysed and assessed in the centre circle for example

VAR....a very good idea, done badly by the premiership on this country.
The science used to describe offside now is beyond comprehension. I knew i should have listened more to geometry at school and that one day there would be a wonderful practical use for it!

Eventually it'll get to the stage where players boots are chipped, to allow computers to make instant offside calls. MOTD pundits will drool over "Quality defending... see how Arsenal's back four all turn their feet by 45 degrees at the last second in order to catch the striker's foot in an offside position".

I’m definitely in the minority with this, but here goes...

Why is this so unfair? It’s just a different quality of refereeing in different games.

Would in be unfair is one tie had Howard Webb and another Uriah Rennie? There’s no bias within the game itself so I don’t get it

Did we do geometry at our school?? You're not confusing us with those 'posh boys' who went to Holgate Grammar are you?

We did it at Wombwell High

My issue with VAR is they are using geometry with a fixed not aligned camera trying to make marginal decisions for things like offside but dont take into account any accuracy errors in the system. I have never seen any accuracy figures but I bet its not 1cm in all cases where you are comparing a shoulder against a boot, No idea why they dont use the clear and obvious criteria and go with the on pitch decision unless the error is more than half a player width

Ive got a good idea, have a bloke with a whistle to give the decisions helped by two blokes on either side of field helping him.You never know it might work.

Well it is better than the current premiership implementation of VAR

The goal line technology works - it doesnt affect the flow of the game and gives correct decisions
The VAR imlemeation as it stands doesnt but it could do - I think this decision to do remote reffing is a disaster though . The on field ref should be the decider and should be able to view a replay for things like whether a trip-handball is inside or outside the box, and the crowd should see it too like in other sports
and I think the on field decision should stand where it is too marginal to clearly tell an error has been made like is already implemented in Cricket and Rugby -when its taking multiple replays to try and decide is somoeones toenail is offside or if the ball just touched the sleve of an attacker its not working

    Ha ha....your right!
Tbf.... sister michael teaching us RE would have been better for VAR, as at least a bit of Devine intervention could be trusted over some of the terrible decisions!!
