Sorry, I'm sure there's plenty of posts on the subject, but I've been rushed off my feet, I'm absolutely knackered and I'd like the information I want handed to me on a silver platter because I'm a lazy useless b@rztard who can't be bothered to dig it out for myself.

No not really. We were atrocious at the back and they missed an absolute sitter at 1 nil. For much of the game I thought we were going out to another lower league team and so did the commentators.

To offset that a little, we looked good going forward, especially in the first 15-20 mins, where we could have been 2 possibly 3-nil up

From what I read and heard we were far from great and looked a shambles at the back at times. Pretty standard fare really.

Not totally our defence. We looked short of ideas in the final 3rd and Thomas seemed to pick the wrong option/give the ball away at every given opportunity.

Dominated the first 15 where it appeared we were massively better than them and could get a hatful. But they were deep and sat off us. Their manager moved one of his midfielders to halfway, they got closer to us and quickly realised we are a shambles defensively with Mads in particular looking very suspect. They created little though and passed up a sitter at 1-0.
But we still had numerous efforts ourselves but kept trying to walk it in. Thomas was particularly wasteful.

Second half they got the equaliser after more horrible defending but after that, I don’t remember them causing much of an issue as we began to regain control. Only a matter of time until we scored.
The third goal made it look easier than it was. But we played some good stuff, Oduor was exceptional again and Chaplin unplayable with Brown looking more threatening too. The defending will always be the issue until we find two or three better to slot in.

And fair play to Crewe who showed in patches why they are flying in their division.

We didn't play as bad as what is described here. It wasn't one of the performances of late but far better than against Derby. I still thought we controlled the game but still look ***** at the back, as per usual.

    We have some Championship players.
We have some players that would benefit and lift themselves into a Championship standard player if others around them were better.
And then we have 1st Division quality players that will never be good enough.
It was all on show against Crewe.

We were poor in long spells. I sometimes wonder if we really are progressing. Good early on but then the same epidemic of giving the ball away easily, attacks breaking down due to our own poor play etc. Defending hasn't changed too much for me. We still cant defend set pieces, often let balls that should be headed clear bounce and fail in the second phase. I think it would have been yet another defeat if we played championship opposition.

for me Oduor has been a good addition and hopefully the new lad will too. But unless we sort out the defensive side of our game i pretty much expect a similar second half of the season as the first.
