We cannot afford to off load our better players right now. We are lacking a full set of Championship quality players. Cauley is one of the quality players we have at the club.
Woodrow seems very decent and I don't disbelieve him. But if a club offers our valuation of him, we'll accept, and if he speaks to that club he'll be offered significantly more money than he's on here. And he'll go. That's just how it is. That's not disrespecting Cauley, or even the club, it's just what happens. There's nothing that can be said that makes this situation go away.
There is a solution. We pay championship wages same as every other club. Brentford do it, Luton are game for it. Wigan do it also. Only club similar to us but it’s working well for them is Preston. Very cautious with the budget as I’m surprised with the Scott Sinclair deal
I think we should have a smaller squad of better quality on higher wages. But as we've overfilled the squad with potential, I don't see how we can offer higher wages at this point when we're paying out significant amounts for young lads to go to Meadowhall on a Saturday afternoon.
Amazing how Cauley knows how to use his social media positively when injured like this, but players like Pogba who have all the top level publicist’s around them decide to put stupid videos pissing about on there when they’re injured. Fair play Cauley.
Brentford. ? Have you seen their wage bill. £15-20k per week top 5 players on 4/5 yr contracts. £4/5million per year on those 5 alone. £175k per week in 2017. ( 9 million quid )116% of turnover. on players wages alone.
We will be paying more in wages to our players than such as Luton. We’ve lads on four and five year deals. They’ve gone short term with older players who might well be on a grand or two more than some of ours but we are committing to them long term. I’m told we’ve a few players on or around 10 grand a week and it wouldn’t surprise me.
