I hate all these hypothetics but you are deluding yourself if you think we would spend anything like £5Million on a player.
All totally irrelevant any way as neither Woodrow or Mowatt will be leaving us in January. That is what I am hearing from within the club.
Disagree with you there tbh. If we spend that amount on a player it’s because we could potentially get 8+ million in future . That’s the plan .
Given the cost of a suitable replacement that is a relief. Surely staying up is crucial to getting a good price for our players and having a chance of retaining them. I suspect if we go down we'll lose them both, but hopefully we won't!
I think Mowatt is playing with the handbrake on because the midfield around him is none existent. With a decent laiker alongside him I think he'd score more free kicks and more goals. He'd also be more involved in creating chances than he is now. He 's a great little player we need to hang onto. What's the alternative Bahre?
More than likely. I don't get too attached or read into the kissing the badge and wanting to stay rhetoric. Just enjoy him while he's in a Barnsley shirt and hope there is a proper replacement lined up, should he leave.
And thats what we were told would happen, gradually improve the squad by buying better players with the money received. We still haven't reinvested the 3/4 million we received for Moore yet, on a better player or any player for that matter!
If this is true, which I doubt, would we have enough to bring in Shon Weissman from Wolfberger? Can't see us doing a deal on any other terms. Incidentally, I have mates who are Bristol City fans and they really didn't rate Cauley in his time there, even though he only got bit-part appearances as sub.
Which shows the issue with the recruitment..... You dont replace a key striker with a winger and an unknown youngster. It should have been someone absolutely ready to take moores position, with the potential to make the step up above moores ability.
Who knows we've just signed a centre midfielder and right back on loan no one's heard of. What's saying we won't spend £2-3 million on a centre forward that fits into Strubers style and bangs in the goals to keep us up. No one knows.
He can't be certain, to say they're not leaving is daft. Bids will be made and if someone REALLY wants them, then they'll be off. The club will cash in if the money is right.
Everybody has their price, there is no denying this. Sources I trust say they are not leaving. The proof will be in the pudding. I reckon if £7 million is offered for Woodrow, it will be a done deal. I hope I'm wrong. I'm often wrong....
5m players come with 5m players wages. No way will this board buy players for that amount, no chance.
I hope we get to a position where they prove you wrong . If and I know it’s a big if we get to prem then your prediction will go straight out the window.
