Were probably not going to see a "major signing" we all recognise. The board have love them or hate them have been very shrewd with th the signings weve had recently. Be it good or bad. Last season was probably one of bfc's best ever seasons, unbeaten at home. Not every signing has been great, but this team has alot of potential . The 2 signings so far have adressed weak areas in the team . Yes we need a new striker and a cb . If the board sign 2 players in these 2 positions i think we can hopefully stay up. You reds
Scout recommendations or poor management let them down? Did you expect us to be in the top 6 of table?
It seems that some people think our owners are being 'shrewd' just because they sign players we've never heard of even though it would seem that at this point unless the last two signings are on ten pence a week and cost us just 43p in transfer fees then Dane Murphy has pretty much admitted we've gone over budget and spent more money then we have had come in plus spent all our championship revenue. Ie spent so much we're in debt. It's like on payday your lass sending you to Asda to do the weekly shop and you coming back with a car full of stuff you've bought from Aldi instead. Having to explain to her that you had to take out a wonga loan because you bought more than you needed,p that you bought an entire trolley full of pasta despite neither of you liking pasta and that you bought too much frozen to fit in your freezer so some of it will need throwing away immediately anyway. I guarantee if you tried telling her you were shrewd she'd either file for divorce or simply hit you over the head with a rolling pin.
Not sure. Just on those we ve bought under the new owners. We ll lose money on Green, Wilkes if the rumours are true, that one we bought last season who was on loan to Bradford Miller was it( what's even happened with him?) However we have done well with Woodrow and Chaplin. And by the looks of it Odour and Collins. Andersen and Diaby possibly but will need more time Shrewd to me is not just buying the youngsters but getting a pairing in like Hendrie and Wilkinson that got us to the Premiership. And listening to your manager in the way Dennis did with Wilson.
You sound like you speak from experience. Hope everything is o.k. Maybe try tesco n' get yourself a clubcard and ice for the sore head
Sign another centre forward and centre back and i'd say it would have been a good window. On the pitch if we beat Huddersfield tomorrow we'll know if this recent upturn isn't just a flash in the pan.
I dont think the upturn is a flash in the pan. Players have improved and Struber's formation has been working Its just can we be consistent enough to pull through and can we avoid any serious injuries. An interesting New year ahead.
We still need to stop dithering in the final third. I think Derby were there for the taking and we didn't really work the keeper during our spell on top when they sat back.
Missed Cauley and Brown against Derby for sure which shows the limitations of our squad. Schmidt was only ever really meant to make a few sub appearances this year as we thought the signing of that Legia striker was nailed on. It wasn't one or the other, it was meant to be both.
Didn't he sign for someone in the Champions League eventually? Can't remember but I don't think a striker is the priority this window, as the expectation is nobody leaves other than those who can't even get splinters in their arse!
