Daft as it may seem, I think it was the lack of effort in not preventing QPR's 3rd was the final straw.
Bahre averages 2.2 successful tackles per game. McGeehan 1.2 a game. Check any statistical website out there and you’ll find that Bahre has not only been more effective than McGeehan defensively, but in nearly every department. Carlisle in the cup I thought Halme had a disaster of a debut but McGeehan pushed him close that night. At Wednesday and Birmingham away he was dreadful. Then he went through a spell of missing sitters and failing to complete simple passes. Baffled that anyone can watch this current side and suggest McGeehan works harder than Bahre. Next I’ll be reading that Stendel won more games this season than Struber.
I remember been baffled by his inclusion in the league one team of the season as although he did well for us I didn’t feel he was one of our better players as he gave away the ball too much. We could get away with that at league one level as we often regained the ball quickly with the high press but championship sides are a bit better at retaining the ball. With the possession football we now play with us building it from the back he’s just not suited to been in our team at the minute. McGeehan’s more suited to a long ball side feasting on second balls. Probably a wise decision to only loan him out as he could be an asset for us next season if we get relegated or under a different manager with a different style of play.
Daniel used to say against the ball too and I always assumed they meant off the ball/ when they didnt have the ball but maybe it means something else?
It seems to be a common phrase in German football. This link seems to suggest it's used when attacking rather than defending https://books.google.co.uk/books?id...Q#v=onepage&q=work "against the ball"&f=false
He tried his best, but he's not even an outstanding league 1 player..... Average, solid league 1 player would be the best description. Which makes it more frustrating that we didnt strengthen that position in the summer.
Just what I thought, maybe we should get Stahlrost to have a chat with Gerhard and then report back....
Probably fed up of him constantly giving the ball away and unable to pass to a team mate 3 yards away. A bit like Bahre I can’t believe we kept either of them for the championship both give too much ball away on league 1
im sure someone put on here Bahres pass completion was as good as anybody's at the club? Difference is ....he has it in his locker to split defences with his passing and has done.
Not defending mcgheehan i believe you but cant be arsed to check stats. But Bahre has been so ineffective some games he has been dragged off in less than 30minutes on two occasions. Waste of a start.
