He won motm last week. He wasn’t motm though. The sponsors gave it to him on the back of one good tackle and a few sideways passes. He was competent, no more. And that’s as good as he’s ever been.

If the young Austrian lad doesn’t play Tuesday I’ll be amazed.

It's an opinions game isn't it? I happen to think Ritzmaier was our best player yesterday, my mate reckoned Thomas, my other mate Brown.

 

I'd love to know the figures for voting on the app. I bet it's not much more than a handful of people.

Personally I don't think Jordan Williams is good enough to start at the moment but the same goes for practically every defender at the club because we don't sign them for current ability we sign them for raw physical statistics and future resale value

As for your other comment, I think we went too ambitious when recruiting defenders this season. A few years ago we were making bold signings in that area, such as Mawson, Roberts, MacDonald, Pinnock, but each of them had played a lot of games, albeit at a low level.
Most people I speak to believe an older head next to one of Andersen or Halme would have made a big difference. You've only to look at Ritzmaier. Where they come from means nothing to me. But he's come straight in at 26, and you can tell he's played a lot of football.

I think we are crying out for a centre back who has played at least 150 games.

I think Ludewig will take over from Jordan Williams, he looked okay out of position once he came on yesterday. I think full-backs can be young and raw. But Jordan is hit and miss.

 

It's a shame people can't be objective. He has been really good and has improved us defensively. Unlike Cavare, he sees the danger and gets on cover. He is also very good going forward, calm and picks players out in the box. He is a young lad who has a real chance of developing into a top player, at least at this level. Yes, he could have done more for their goal but Thomas had a chance to cut that off at source at lhe half way line, one of the centre half's should have been in position to clear and Ludwig should have got closer and blocked the shot. So a poor goal all round but it hides what was the real problem. Playing with 'split' strikers means there is noone getting on the end of crosses. Sometimes you have to put the ball into dangerous areas and attack it... We did the first bit only. They did that better and won the game, somewhat fortuitously as a result

 

That’s a little bizarre - you criticise for not being objective then go on to give a long opinion piece which is as subjective as they come.

I’ve no issues with people disagreeing with anyone’s opinion but don’t make out your view is hard fact.
