Can sort this online but would rather use a local firm.

The van we use for the Fan Zone doesn’t move very much so the battery is goosed, even keeping it on a conditioning charge isn’t enough.

We’ve already removed the panels to access the battery, but we need a new one fitting, ideally one that’s quite resilient to not being run much.

Anyone willing and able to fit a new one for us onsite at Oakwell? Can’t take it to Halfords as it won’t start.

No rush, just needs swapping before the SWFC match. Cash waiting.

What you need is a new battery, and then a battery isolator fitting. Whatever battery you fit, will get drained by the memory for the radio and power for immobiliser/remote locking.

A correctly fitted isolator is cheap to buy and fairly easy for a mobile electrician to fit. I have 2 vans with these, and they can go upto 8 months without being started - but turn over first time if decent batteries.

Tbf a decent battery with a C-Tek charger will work quite easily. So I suggest either your battery is knackered or your charger is.

I’ve bought a ctek charger recently from amazon so I doubt that’s knackered - it kept the battery slightly charged for a while but now it just dies immediately, so pretty sure it’s battery.

Thanks for tips, I’ll get on it

Solar panel trickle charger may help... once you have a new battery.

Sound. It’s the battery for sure then. Ctek are the best out there.

Can be just as easy to fit the isolator - then you won’t need to use the charger then. Just condition it once a quarter for maintenance sake. But there’s no harm leaving the conditioner on full time, that’s what they are designed for. Most cars in showrooms have them fitted these days for that purpose.
