Sack Struber. Panic buy in the last few days of the window. Regroup and prepare for league 1. Stick with what we are doing and hope things turn. Try Cavare, Pinnilos, Thiam, Bahre, Dougal U23s etc as they cant be worse. Change formation try 532 like Murray played with some success Put Cauley back up front. Bring back Hecky and go 442 old school. Im out of ideas.
I'd go 442 - keep it simple. Woodrow and Chaplin up top. Brown and Thomas as actual wingers. Mowatt and Dougall in the middle. Oduor left back. Cavare right back. An old dustbin and a leather sofa at centre half. Collins.
Loans. And fast. Forget about this saleable asset crap. Get some lads from prem who aren’t in their 23 man squad on loan.
I'll continue to support these young lads through thin and thin. Some of them are not yet up to the required standard, but that's not their fault. Most fans (with a few exceptions) know where the problem is.
Been trying to think what we can change to try and get something at Charlton and I’m struggling. Diamond isn’t working now but I can’t see that changing as it’s Struber’s way. The last 2 performances we’ve been second best all over the pitch and it’s a worry as today I looked at the team and thought ‘put in Mowatt and that’s probably our strongest side’. I still think we need another centre back and a physical striker as a minimum.
Time to get them all together, draw a line in the sand and ask them who have got the balls to play and care about the club. Then get a psychiatrist in and straighten their heads out
As a person, I like Struber. And I think he is desperate to succeed and will definitely give the players a piece of his mind. However, I just don't think he is up to managing in the Championship (at the moment at least). The Championship is a tough league. Playing in a fancy diamond doesn't work with the likes of Bambo and Co. You won't survive buying kids from tinpot leagues, either. It's arguably the 5th toughest league in the world. We HAVE to stop this spreadsheet nonsense. We NEED to start buying players from British leagues, with good amounts of experience to work alongside those we are running through the academy. The current model isn't sustainable. They can't even argue that we are looking towards resale values of our current players... who would pay for them? We've paid 400k for the captain of a top of the league team. The club were willing to let their captain go for 400k. Consider that! They're small clubs in very weak leagues, where 400k is huge money. The Championship is a wholly different level. We are a far weaker team than we was last season. I would expect last year's team to stay up.
Woodrow and mowatt could be gone by end of this month clubs still sniffing round them so could do with covering those positions just in case
To be honest no matter what formation we play if we pass it like we have done for the last couple of games it wouldnt make a difference!
