He was in midfield for the 1st half and then left back for the second due to Aidy White getting a busted nose
I was at Celtic v Ross County yesterday though spent most of my time following the nightmare unfold at Fratton Park. Delighted that the Wee Huns beat the Big Huns (obviously) but more especially, really pleased for DS. Would love to see him successful up there. Pleased for a Toby as well. Still think there’s a CB in there.
You'd have Gerhard sacked after 15 points from 13 games. And replaced by Daniel who got 6 points from 11 games. Fascinating stance to take. One I completely disagree with, but it's a game of views!
Daniel would have had a full squad to pick from like Struber did. I am 100% convinced we'd have got some wins under him But as you say opinions.
Struber has had injury and issues to deal with like anyone else. He's still got more than double the points Stendel did. Without, until very recently, any of his players. Anyway I am not arguing this topic all night. I was a huge fan of Herr Stendel and I'm a fan of Herr Struber so far. I just found it weird to me that some would happily sack one for the other all things considered. But opinions!
Just that Struber is struggling now with injuries and suspensions. He had a full squad up until Derby. Don't get me wrong, I lihe Struber and want him to be successful. I just think we'd have had a more enjoyable season if Stendel had been backed from the start.
No body has actually said that they would be happy about sacking Struber. Personally my musings were very much along the lines of if Daniel had never left in the first place.
My apologies then, I took it very literally. Although someone did actually say that. Redhelen. It's my opinion that things were only going to somehow get worse under Stendel. But from all that's been said, it wasn't merely results that saw him off, as Conway said on BBC radio a while ago.
After overseeing one of the best seasons in the club's history, I believe the board should've backed Daniel 100% for bringing in the type of players he wanted. He'd earned the respect & right for this to be done. The sad fact is that it wasn't, resulting in various consequences during the current campaign. I believe had the board backed Daniel in the way he wanted, he would've steered the club to safety this season. Just my opinion. Gerhard Struber has had a good run of results (and performances), which have sadly come to an end in fairly spectacular style. However, as Daniel won't be returning, I'm still more than happy to continue to give Gerhard my backing.
