That’s sexist in itself imo . I used to chat regular to a lass at work who was a Barnsley fan and one who was a Wendy .
That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve even seen. It does remind me of the other day though when 2 guys at work were talking about football and I made 3 comments that they completely ignored and kept talking past me, even though the comments were actually answering the thing they kept pondering. They then ended up Googling it and coming up with that answer I said and then discussed it like it was brand new information. It was surreal. I put it down to them being rude not them being men. I’d like to think that it wasn’t them being misogynistic anyway.
I think it’s more about not excluding folk with whom you don’t share a common interest. I’ve always been wary of making close personal friends at work for fear of bias or questions about my integrity to make the right call where my ‘mates’ are involved. It’s a shame but it has happened.
Daft. I know a lot of women that like to talk about sports and blokes who like soaps etc. Manners means you don't leave people out of conversations surely?
This is ridiculous and sexist on her part. Love her name though, perhaps she can go into hiding now and not post any more stupid ideas.
What you described happening in your office was basically like one of the sketches that used to be on it. A comedy show in 90s
The scariest part IMO is the person that has these views and opinions has managed to make it all the way to the dizzy heights of the greasy pole when it comes to career advancement i.e. HEAD of the Chartered Management Institute. Nevertheless it is comforting to note that the comment has been overwhelmingly met with derision and scorn. It is hard to find anyone who has not ridiculed it. Jeez - I wonder what sort of salary you get in that post!!
If her idea being discussed is an indication of her thought processes I would suggest two thirds is far too much
