I normally get a lift there and back but I’ll have to drive myself now so I’m looking for recommendations of where to park. I used to park in multi-storey when I drove but obviously that isn’t an option. Ideally something not too far away as I really struggle to walk in the cold and not somewhere that fills up early as I don’t want to have to arrive hours before as I attend on my own and I’d just be hanging around by myself. I don’t want much, I know!
There are still people trying to get out from last week's game though. I wouldn't park in there if they offered a free season ticket for my troubles.
Yeah you could be right on that fact tbh. Don’t think getting out of oakwell is all that bad if you can head out the way behind the east stand.
I park on The appropriately named Park Road A6133 It’s got yellow lines on it but can park on Saturdays I then cut through to Chilton street and so it’s about 10 mins to ground brilliant to get away from Barnsley quickly too and on to the A1.....not that that’s too much of a problem these days...
We park off Huddersfield Road, but it's a bit of a trek. Even more so with the scenic tour diversion caused by Nudger's Bridge.
I used to park behind the Outpost pub, but it's a stiff uphill walk after the game so probably not suitable. Lots of cars park on the grass outside the east stand car park entrance, but it depends what car you've got as that involves driving up curbs and could result in you getting stuck. As already mentioned, Riding for the Disabled. Lots of street parking in the area behind the Mount pub, but you'd have to be early to get a space. Alternatively you could park at Darton, Dodworth or Wombwell and get the train in. I know someone at Dodworth who has space on his drive
Forgot to mention that for evening kick offs, the Court House car park is our first choice. It's free on a night. Usually plenty of space in the top section, we get there about 19.05 and then its about 15 minutes up to the ground.
