We needed them in the summer but we signed the likes of anderson and schmidt. Scoring goals hasn't been a problem and jacob has been a big part of that were in the **** because we defend like a pub team.

It's a very sad statement because it's wrong.

You do realise these owners are never going to pay for that. Ever.

We haven't had £100m injected into the club since 2012.

The stats suggest that Brown is the player with the second worst pass completion record in our squad.

25th. Above a certain Bradley Collins only.

So there are lies, damned lies etc...

I couldn’t disagree more. In fact I’m quite surprised that anyone but a complete buffoon wouldn’t see the potential star that he is...

No argument there though, we will do well to keep him for all of this and next season I’d suggest.

It would only make any sense for a deal for Brown in this window if we already have someone else lined up and ready to sign - Weissman? Grbic? Don't know. if we don't have anyone, I could not see the sense in letting him go at this point in the season. He has performed above expectation this season with the assists and not just the number, but the quality as well, but he does need to add more goals to his game.

When your playing on the wing putting a ball into the box it's a little different to anderson and radlinger passing back and fourth 6ft away from each other. His assist stats are 4th best in the division and the players above him would be cost many more millions than we would sell jacob for and he is still only 21 dont get me wrong he isnt the finished player but I rate him as one of the best we have.

Could you explain why you don’t think Brown will get better? For me he’s already got the raw attributes you can’t coach - great stamina, speed, strength, decent height but lacks a bit on the technical side. The technical sides the bit you can improve, he’s only a young lad that only broke into the first team a year ago so for me he’s got loads of potential to get better.

If you said you don’t think Mowatt & Woodrow will get much better I could understand it as they’re both very good technically but lack the physical attributes Brown has to make it as top players as you can’t really coach them

I was taking the pi$$ to some extent although it certainly the case that those in the Boardroom and a good few on here see us as 'Lil ol Barnsley' and think we should be grateful to just have a Club.
Note the suggestions that "We'll end up like Bury" if we show a bit of ambition by, oh I don't know - painting the Tea Bar!
Those 'fans' get on my tits frankly. Prepared to accept 'second best'. What am i saying, I mean 'third best'. Look at the Giants in the Premiership that we've fallen behind over the years: Norwich, Watford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Sheff Utd, Leicester. Jesus!! I can remember when we were competing against Man City and Chelsea - and beating them regularly. I'm not suggesting we could now but some of those names on that list (i;m shaking my head).
That's why Brown (if he gets the chance) should go to Brentford. Ambition, desire but most of all competence in the Boardroom. Rant over. I'm goin fer mi tea!

    I rate him too.

My point was about simply using statistics to try to prove something.

When have you known these owners to buy a Championship ready player? If Brown goes, he will be replaced by a spreadsheet signing from a lower division or someone from Europe.

Not really, pretty factual when you read up on the history and where both clubs find themselves right now. One has investment and an owner with desire for success and we don’t.

If the Board do sell him they will be making a massive mistake. The majority of the fan base is disillusioned as
it is already. Surely they must realise that selling Brown, Mowatt or Woodrow would have a detrimental affect
on next terms season ticket sales. We are struggling and need to bring experienced players in, not sell our better
ones to rivals in the same division.

The issue I have with all this is not selling an asset, at the right or wrong time, it is selling an asset for peanuts and then 18 months later they get sold on by the buying clubs for vast profit.

If Brentford want Brown then let them pay the value of potential worth, if there front three of BMW are worth 15 to 20 mil to Prem clubs then fine the cost to replace them is 15 to 20 mil, not 2 mil and a Blackies egg same for any other saleable asset we have at the club.

Tin pot clubs like Brentford are only able to flex their muscles because their rich owners are strong with sales and purchase of assets (players) backing the on going process with his capital which he gets back long term through players sales, promotion to the greed league or sale of the club.

If!!! our owners are as rich as to be believed??? why can they not follow the above the above model and back our "Tin pot " club the same way. It is called investment and if done correctly raises vast profit in the long term. Brentford for example have not accrued £100 mil debt in one season and 40 Mil is the new ground, so the investment is minimal in relative terms against the potential return i.e 1 season in Prem = 186 mil return minimum? It's a risk but so is buying 100 mil shares on a stock market business that you have no control over, with this model you do? Easy for me to say as it is not my money but isn't business about controlled risk and reward?

Regardless of Brown's potential and all the above discussion, it's a bit late in the transfer window to be selling first team regulars. If Brentford were serious they should have got the deal done in the first few weeks so Barnsley would be far more likely to sell, given a fair remaining window to replace. From the outside this looks speculative at best. But who knows what's going on behind the scenes and what has been lined up.
