I hear what you are saying Johnny mate but I think you have donned those rose-tinted specs with regards GG.

Clear fracture of relations between club and fans since GG departed. Mainly due to lack communication from the club, dare I say silence.

Not saying GG was the greatest but he had relationship with the fans. And fans felt involved.

Apart from lack of communication we did very little in the way of transfer business during this his first window. Players signed clearly on Strubers radar.

GG and Manford despite selling players, saw deals over the line for key additions e.g. Woodrow, Mawson, Hourinhane, Scowen, Watkins, Pinnock, Harvey Barnes the list goes on...

Who is Dane Murphy? what does he offer? Is he still at the club? Does he live in the uk?

I think you are right. There is a clear fracture of relations between club and fans but it's got nothing to do with GG's departure. He was barely at the club. It became a bit of a running joke that he was always in France. From what I hear, at least, Murphy is there every day, has great rapport with the staff. Maybe he isn't interested in the self-publicity that GG and Mansford were? The owners have stifled the communication. The head of media left recently. The CEO implements the boards strategy, right?

I've spoken to Whitey in the past and asked for more communication but it's not in his hands.

Correct. The CEO implements the Board’s strategy. He has some input etc as to the best way to achieve it and by what means, but I’d say it’s likely he’s quiet as that what his role requires.

To be fair, in other clubs and other businesses, the CEO isn’t always that vocal anyway. We’ve been somewhat lucky in the past with this. The manager and players give regular interviews, and the club use their website and social media to put out information.

For the lexicographers out there......Dane Murphy = Sinecure ?

I think it's very unfair to compare Dane with GG.

GG got a free ride with relegation last time. The toxicity that is out there right now wasn't around then at all, and I can only think that was because the new owners came in, Hecky left, it was on the cards, etc. He then was CEO during a Summer where we kept the squad together, brought in Stendel, and we broke all kinds of record on the pitch. Would he have been so well thought of it and had the relationship you talk of if things were like they are now?

We demand to hear from the CEO when as mentioned already CEO's aren't normally open. We were spoilt with Cryne/Mansford, and Patrick used to mention this every time he spoke to the fans openly, pointing at all our neighbours in Yorkshire.

There seems to have been a definite shift even since Dane first arrived. Initially he carried on with the custom of appearing on the welcome photos with new the signings as per Mansford and GG, but he was nowhere to be seen with arrival of either of the two Austrians

I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon slagging off the board, but I do wonder where we fans fit into the plan. Are we valued customers? A necessary evil? What value do we have to the plan?
The communication to us is hardly evident most of the time, they don’t seem to want to win hearts and minds and I’ve heard fans say that they don’t mind losing because it frustrates the board (I really have heard that). Dane Murphy doesn’t seem to have the public relations skills to do the job and his business acumen in signing what we need in the window is negligible, so what does he bring to the club? If there are issues that we don’t know about then for god sake let us know. Involve us, you never know we may be on the same side.

Dane Murphy will only issue statements that have been sanctioned by the full board. He's the CEO not
the Public Relations Officer. The Board might feel they did enough during the window. They brought two
parmanents and a loan signing in for the first team and two players for the U23's. It's patently obvious to
anyone with knowledge and experience of the EFL, that we haven't presently got enough to secure
    our place in the Championship.

We're pretty threadbare when it comes to specialist roles like that. It probably gets chucked in with marketing.

It's not just the playing side where we're under resourced vs. other teams.

I always thought the ceo job was to run operations within the financial constraints of the owners. Sounds like they were very pig headed about any communication over DS departure but that's now behind us.privacy so surely Dane's old now be a bit more open with the fans if he chooses to? If it's still Conway dealing with everything they're wasting money employing him!
