May be the writers want to ask Boris Hihnson to remove all the letterboxes from the flats as well. Why not say what they mean, ie Johnny Foreigner go home? Have to say, I have spent quite a bit of time in hotels in India, Pakistan and even Afghanistan in a previous job and never experienced anything like this.
In fact it was the complete opposite in India especially where I was always shocked how white people were treated much better than people perceived to be ‘local’.

 

Of course maybe a lot depends on how a white tourist conducts themselves when conversing with the locals.

 

Particularly when the same person has suffered racism when in Scotland Ireland France and other places too.

Seems fair to me. Speak whatever language you want in your own property. But out in public it's courtesy to be able to speak fluently the language of the country you live in.

Do you speak Spanish in Spain? Greek in Greece etc?
Any country you visit do you want people coming up to you asking you to speak their language to your lass n kids ?
We’d have to have officials intruding into peoples conversations asking if they are visitors or residents , then demanding proof and are we gonna arrest them if they don’t ?
Your advocating a police state just on a simple thing like that .

 

It is courtesy, respectful and right to try and get to a position whereby you can speak the language of the country you reside in.

It is also of great benefit to you.

Not that the English in the Costas are necessarily shining pathfinders in this regard.

Nevertheless I can't see a problem conversing in any language with anyone else who can also speak it, wherever they are.

non of us live in a majority muslim area, so we can not talk till we walked in an other mans shoes,the notice is very extreme but can imagine its quite scary to think someone may stab you or worse in the street every day,we went on holiday to France in area that the priest had is throat slit by a terrorist attack a couple of years ago,it was the week after we went we were not going to go but decided to brave it, it was terrible holiday, everytime we passed an asian,in town centres, supermarkets etc,you thought something was going to happen, we even did not go to a local town street festival,as armed police and barriers were everywhere, it must be awful for those asian people too, innocently going about there business and people thinking bad about them, the french lady who we rented our place off, said it was ruining their lives, scared to sit out in town squares etc, the letter is a total extreme version of what I am trying to say , but I do not know the answer
As a side note my wifes nephew lived in cleckheaton and there were only 2 white children in a nursery of 30 kids, they have moved to Barnsley area now as he was starting to speak English with an asian accent,probably loads of nice kids in his class but not what they wanted ,

 

Anyone think that someone miffed at leaving who never accepted the vote etc is just a likely to have put this up as some idiot racist. As if to just get something stirring trying to prove their own point.. We can't prove either way I guess unless they get the person responsible via cctv or whatever. I'd keep an open mind..
