Pr1cks with huge egos and no longer fit for purpose, 34 in a 30 flagged down, talked down to, that’ll be £100 please sir. Burgled, here’s your crime number, sorry we don't have the resources to investigate further. Any opportunity to speak to you like you’re an inferior being and they’re queuing up. Pr1cks.

I can almost guarantee 'the body cam wasn't switched on at the time of the alleged incident'

But on the flip side of that argument there are plenty who will undermine the police in any way they can. In general they do a fantastic job serving a very difficult and ungrateful public.

There are some bad apples in the force but they do not reflect the large majority of officers.

I was having a pint in the White Bear about 4.30ish when it started kicking off outside between a few 16 year old chavs. Police totally over reacted whacking people randomly with their batons. They should be embarrassed by their actions .

SYP are manned by human beings, who in general have flaws.... there will always be a duck head, like there is in any place of work. This does not mean that they are all like that. In fact the large majority of the police force are trying to do their best to police and protect all citizens. The tone on here shows how little respect the poor bstards have from the public. It’s a pity we don’t see all the good stuff they do, even with the meagre budget, and lack of support from the general public.

Just commenting on the reactions I'm not sure how anyone can justify what looks like two lads scrapping and then a copper running in from behind hitting one with a metal trunchon. They were plenty of coppers about by looks to break up the fight without doing that could have killed the lad.

I agree on the whole the police do a great job, but come on the lad could have ended up with a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain or even dead doing that no need needs investigating.

I’d say the copper swung too high - easy to do when adrenaline is running high and they’re trying to sort fights out.

The video DOES NOT show what happened prior to these events.

Copper should be warned and re-trained, nothing more. The copper won’t do it again, and the kid hopefully won’t fight again either.

Not nice to see, but when you fight, accidents/mistakes like this can happen.

I wasn't defending his actions; in the video I've seen he looks like he handed the situation badly. I was simply commenting on your comment about some seeing no wrong with the police and offering a counter argument.

There will be an internal investigation where all evidence is considered and he could then face disciplinary action.

Ultimately he looks like he reacted badly but the way some fans behave ar football is f***ing appalling and normal folk are sick of it. That doesn't excuse this officer or the police overreacting - they should be more professional when dealing with some of the chavvy idiots who cause trouble.

Two people are fighting the lad who got hit could have been just defending himself but the officer didnt ask questions straight in from behind with the baton.

Yes I agree football can bring the worst out in people but we can go policing it like that. I just dont see how people can defend that coppers actions, would they be defending him if the lad had ended up seriously hurt? Or if it was there son? doubt it.

Christ! That looks bad. Not sure if I ‘m more offended by the Officer’s out of control reaction or the fact that his Colleagues took no action against him. Naive I know.

Your right you can tell the lad caused it all, the copper is a hero should have hit him a few more times for good measure and set the dogs on him.

The female copper shouting he's injured. No **** Sherlock the young lad just took a pasting off your colleague brandishing a weapon. I hope the witness statements of his work colleagues don't go soft on their mate.
