    While I understand we have to rescue these people, perhaps some sort of community service should be in order.

    I read that story. 22 mountain rescuers risked their lives to get them off the mountain safely. Part of me wonders whether we should just let Darwinism take over in cases like this one. I cant quite understand why anyone would be that stupid. They are fortunate they are still alive

    absolutely agreed. Whan you consider that mountain rescue, Rnli and the helicopter ambulance are all charity funded.

    I know it would be hard to do and I'm not talking prison sentences. Obviously people can't be left to die for being stupid but it's just so frustrating to think of the money and people risking their own lives to save people. And in some case making diverting resources from elsewhere.
