Immigration. Flooding. UKIP. Pritti Patel. Terrorist Attacks. Politics. All very interesting but I thought this was primarily a forum about Barnsley FC and Football. Day before a big game against Middlesbrough and no-one seems to be discussing it. Will Radlinger or Collins start in goal? Will Ashley Fletcher celebrate when he scores against us? Is Ryan Shotton still playing for Middlesbrough. Are Middlesbrough fans the ugliest in the Championship. What's your starting eleven? Do we stick with the Fulham side. Surely Middlesbrough will have done more homework on us than Scotty Parker and Fulham did. Football. Football. I can read the newspapers and other comment on politics in other forums thanks
Our village Beer Club has made some lovely cider from local apples and some beers from Festival kits. We're having our monthly meeting tonight. The last one went on until 2am for those that saw it through.
I like discussing other stuff too but looking forward to tomorrow's match and hopefully tomorrow's result! All ready for discussion!
I'd be flooding their box with some terrorist style attacks, whilst keeping our own defensive border as tight as possible so that no foreign spherical body can immigrate into our net — we need to make sure we aren't UKIPPING at the back! That said going forward we should play some priti passes and pat* each other on the back when we score. Come on! Let's forget the board room politics, and we'll give 'em 'el*. Something like that?
I often have a look on our upcoming opponents forums and they are nothing like ours. Probably around 30% barnsleyfc related with the rest including topics such as "vegetarianism in the workplace". I'd say most of the other clubs forums have it the other way round. Odd really.
I see it as a forum of Barnsley FC supporters. So the club is the thing we all have in common. If only football was discussed on here it would lose its charm for me.
Unfortunately, yet again, I have to cover an absent manager so can’t be there. Probably only had 50% out of my ST due to work and home commitments, fortunately theres plenty on here to comment about the games to keep me in the loop, maybe if I could go more I’d have more to post about. With a demanding job and a disabled wife there’s not much ‘me’ time available.
Agree completely. A couple of years ago I was doing some DIY work in the bathroom and didn't know how to get the taps off the bath, I took a picture, posted it on here and 2 people posted how to do it inside 10 minutes. It has to be the best football forum in the world, probably.
I have to agree with the OP, and I feel I need to make a couple of points, firstly I use to love coming on here to find out all things Barnsley fc related but lately it’s been everything but, Secondly I’m planning on having a conservatory built and looking for recommendations,
I like the variety and happily pontificate both on BarnsleyFC matters and the more general topics discussed on here But to go football for a minute If everyone is fit we should start with the same starting 11 as last Saturday which means Collins in goal and Anderson still resting Good chance Fletcher will score - I think if he does he will celebrate but it will be a muted celebration not an over the top in your face one. Chances of us keeping 2 clean sheets in a row is almost nill so someone will score for boro and Fletcher is a good candidate. Got no idea how the game will go tomorrow - we should be full of confidence after last week but we are not good at breaking down packed defences and spoiling tactics which is how I expect them to play - our record against poor sides is dreadful so I fear the worst guessing a 1-0 defeat or 1-1 draw but hope to be spectacularly wrong
Feels like the build up to the Bolton game in 2018 and we made a hash of that too. It's that eerie calmness before the storm. Don't know about other people but I mentioned it before on another thread 7 wins and 6 lives remain. If they lose tomorrow 5 lives remain and a win needed from the toughies (Leeds, Forest and Brentford). I hope we're safe by then.
I agree to a certain degree. A few off topic posts I don’t mind but in recent months the board has been like football is off topic, particularly during peak political periods. Anyway: Pretty sure Radlinger is still out injured. I think Collins deserves to keep his place anyway. Probably a minimal celebration. But yes. I believe Shotton is still there but whether he plays week in week out, I’m not so sure. Don’t have access to the ugly league table so not sure. I think we’ll start with the same side but Ritzmaier will be on the bench. Probably for Marsh. I think it’ll be a low scoring game. Sitting on the fence picking a result though.
Definitely, there are many intelligent, well read and opinionated people on here and it is great to read all viewpoints on almost all subjects. Whether I agree with them or not.
