There are racists in every single sporting event in every single country in every single sport. But until tha witnesses it first hand and especially Dunt hear owt in that way then no need for accusations! I do not condone racism 1 little bit. But I also do not accuse or assume people are being racist if I have heard nowt proving they are
What about half time man telling the girl doing the shoot out "it's not rugby love" if the club are making tanoy announcements about sexism etc
there was a stadium announcement. They didn’t do it for a bit of a laugh or to see our fans off. They did it because there had been a report of racism. Just because you didn’t hear it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, I assume that’s a simple enough explanation. It’s got nothing to do wether you do or do not condone racism personally.
I've heard it loads of times where I sit - and it's gotten worse particularly in the last 18 month's or so. I don't go to away games any more as our knuckledraggers simply made it a chore rather than a pleasure (although the team do that too). Pointing it out is a waste of time - stewards don't want to know, they turn a blind eye because they generally don't want confrontation. And if you confront a racist directly, you get told to **** off.
i think the club was just covering its ass as we were fined for not announcing it at previous games. i sit in the ponte and all i heard was the cardiff fans sing " englands a 5h1thole i want to go home"............. OOOOOOOWWWW that really offended me, i needs a safe place, therapy and some sjw to be offended for me
Lets face it the football's not much fun, if the humour police take the banter away, soon, and probably sooner than they think, folks just won't bother.
But they weren't singing about Barnsley they were singing about our country ? Imagine the backlash if we’d have sung that wales is full of ****. There’d have been the usual scrap amongst the higher beings on here to adopt the very highest of positions on the moral high ground. Whats the difference between using expletives to reference the ira and using expletives when referencing England ?
apparently they were making chants about the english and i bet they do not get fined 20k unless they make barnsley pay again because it was in our stadium. but as for tannoy announcements i could not make ou what was being said anyway in west stand , it always sounds like the old radio luxembourg starting up
Thanks for that Shepley, as usual certain folk on here couldn't wait to put down our fans assuming that the announcements were made at us when we could clearly hear the chant from the Cardiff fans but nothing from the Ponte. Even though they didn't hear anything themselves, perhaps a nice cup of tea in their obviously favorite mug along with a bit of reflection may be in order
What I struggle to get my head round is the following: - Fans chant racist stuff. - Stadium accouncement is given. - Racists are then defended instead of condemned. Bizarre.
There's no difference, it's just a larger geographical target area. Same insult, same context. "Where you live is **** but (by implication) where we live is not ****". I've never sung it and I don't like to hear it, but it's sung at every ground in the country, more or less. It's not a racist chant.
no one is defending racism, the point is that certain folk rushed to assume that it was our fans when they hadn't heard anything from our fans whilst we've still got others on here trying to defend England is full of **** being sung by the Cardiff fans.
