Interesting watching. The normally upbeat Luke (1) seemed frustrated and dispirited. It was interesting to note his comments regarding Woodrow's reaction to Chaplin's substitution. All does not sound well there, and it is increasingly difficult to see Cauley being at Oakwell come August. There's a strong argument that he, Mowatt, Brown and maybe Chaplin ought to be aiming to remain in the Championship next term, having all performed well albeit in a relegated side. But no doubt the Board will wave the off and find newbies to take their place! Will we really walk League One next season? Luke (2) and Steve are of course usually more emotive, and it seemed they might bring pitchforks and torches to the next match. It's hard to see us getting much at QPR (bogey ground), and Stoke and Luton both stuffed us at home. Then there's those killer last three games...….. Oh dear.
Yes the host Luke was very down and air his views which I think are shared by many fans including myself. It was difficult for anybody to feel hopeful of us avoiding the drop after the Cardiff game. We virtually need a minor miracle to stay up and the guys on Tykes TV are passionate about the club so naturally feel dispondent and fearful for the future of the club in the short and long term.
Read this on another post other day and my initial reaction was if players are showing open disdain towards tactics/substitutions then it doesn’t bode well and suggests all is not right in the squad. That’s without it being someone who has always been a consummate professional like CW.
Someone said at the Cardiff game that Woodrow is openly telling people that he’s off at the end of the season. I replied that he can’t decide that for himself because he’s under contract. Silly me.
Hi guys Steve here, yes Cw was shaking his head when the substitution was made,a bit like me when ritzy returned to the field after HT but that's none of my business lol.
Much respect for your passion and your commitment, Steve. Like most of the fans you deserve better from these owners.
I thought that it was strange that Dane M used the 'R' at this point in the season when talking about Struber's contract next season. When you would expect everyone, players, and coaching staff, to be straining every muscle to retain Championship status, the timing of his comment seemed a poor choice. Did it dispirit the players, or do the last two performances indicate that one or two on and off the pitch have given up? With Hull in free-fall, as well as Middlesbrough, plus possible sanctions against Wednesday, whilst the picture doesn't look good, it is by no means game over yet. We have to play Stoke, Luton and Wigan as well, so there is a reasonable glimmer of light at the end of what has been a season-long dark tunnel. COYR
