Who knows, but with the very real economic fallout from this and the Right-wing Jingoistic and Nationalistic rhetoric that is prevalent in today’s Society, perhaps a WW3 is not unthinkable

Goodness sake, get a grip, of course it isn't. It's not going to be as bed as Flu ,Measles, outbreaks of the 1950s and 60s. Switch off the telly and get on with life, everybody.

It just needs another high ranking official to get caught stuck up a rent boy in a public toilet and it will all be on back pages.

I'll get agro for saying it's just a cold so I won't say it but it's not going to be that bad, if they didn't report anything on media then I reckon this wouldn't have been as bad as it has been and people would have got on with life as normal. That's just my opinion so don't shoot me down for it.

So you're saying that if people didn't know about the virus that's currently spreading exponentially and has a 3.5% mortality rate, they wouldn't be worried?

    What a hot take.

Glad you're here. What are your credentials, that you can make such a claim that goes against all scientific predictions? They must be good. You should contact Boris, I'm sure he'll give you a job,

Attitudes like this may kill people. Probably not you if you're healthy, but potentially elderly relatives, or other at risk people.

That's fair, it is scary because of elderly relatives and the people at risk who I know. There's a lot more people out there with the same mindset, so don't just rip me for it...

Norfolk and Norwich Hospital - January 1999 a surge in flu deaths led to a refridgerated trailer becoming a temporary morgue as
the hospital morgue was full .

Without the current twitterfear I bet nobody on here heard about lt .

You forget the additional 16% that require hospital treatment, in an underfunded NHS with minimal spare capacity and a significant shortage of respirators, beds and medical staff.

There’s been other occasions where A&E and mortuaries have been overwhelmed due to flu since.

that’s not good news though, it means that it’s going to happen again and nationally.

for all the ‘it’s just a cold’ quoters, go and have a read of what life is like in Italian hospitals currently, where they’re using combat levels of triage.

Nah; I don’t think we’ll get rationing, people are being encouraged to work where it’s possible. They’re trying desperately to keep the country running.

but we’ll likely all know someone who’s died from it by the time it’s run it’s course. And many of us will have been infected, some of those will have lasting damage, which means the next serious flu epidemic (or the one after) might kill them.

I think a lot of people won't admit it but a key concern of mine is where will people get their kicks now? I've already had the other half saying her mental health will suffer in isolation.

He just tripped and fell inside the boy I think you'll find. While both were completely starkers. And erect.
