Chancellor’s plans: Help to pay wages. Government will pay 80% of salary for workers that are furloughed, up to £2,500 a month. Backdated to March 1st and for a minimum of 3 months. No financial limit to this scheme. Business loan scheme will now be interest free for 12 months, rather than 6 and available from Monday. Cash flow support through tax system. Next quarter VAT payments deferred. No VAT paid from now until June. Have until the end of the year to pay. All business rated abolished for hospitality and leisure industries. Self employed people will be able to access Universal Credit at SSP rate. Next self assessment payments deferred until 2021. I’ve probably missed something, apologies. Typing on my phone as I hear it
It’s cos the hospitals in London are struggling now...just that. Wonder if this would have happened had it been Leeds, Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Wakefield hospitals struggling? Food for thought in my eyes....
He does come across as a man in control and can put a statement across in a coherent way unlike the bumbling fool next to him.
Grandmas funeral on 31st. How does that work? Mums family booked a place for after the funeral. Think place classed as a hotel does that count
cue panic buying of beer/wine/spirits at the supermarkets etc. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51981653
I would think it will be closed. Additionally, as horrible as this is to say, by the 31st the measures are likely to be even more extensive. I would expect there to be rules in place for social gatherings. Maybe not allowing gatherings of more than 10, I would say. I would start at least thinking about planning for that worst-case scenario. Sorry for your loss, anyway.
Really? I’m not so sure mate. The tories have ignored much of what happens outside London for years. But now this has happened very close to home I agree this has made them think differently.
Is it a religious ceremony? - Weddings are now limited to 5 people, not sure about funerals though. My condolences.
The Birmingham area is also struggling badly with the second most deaths in the UK. It *might* be related to Wolves playing in Spain a few weeks ago.
