I can see where these “1st Barnsley game” and “first pint” threads are going, so here’s my contribution:
Easter weekend, Scarborough 1970 with a girl called Lorraine!

The 'Teen & Twenty Club' in the old Civic Hall in 1965 and I got seven old pennies change from a 'half crown' and BTW the band who were on that night were 'The Outer Limits'. Anybody remember them, they used to play regularly at the Civic. I think later on two of their members formed the band 'Smokey'.

Travellers at Kitchenroyd, 1996. Was a pint of bitter, no idea how much it cost. Pub is sadly long gone, changed to an Aagrah then a Thai place.

First legal pint: Three Travellers, Shambles Street, 1975 (still Barnsley Bitter then, and it was good) -18p a pint. If you went to the Outpost (which had just opened) the bitter was 16p and the mild 14p. So if you were really skint (like I was at the time) you could get half of mild and a packet of crisps for 10p.

    Feeling old now...

Catholic club in Wombwell - in the unlikely event I had been under age at the time it was the best place in Wombwell to drink as the police parked in their car park and always tipped them off if there was going to be a raid. In fact the one time I was in when it was raided as luck would have it I was drinking a coke :) - cant remember exactly how much a pint was but think it was around 30p back in the summer of 79

It was either the Collingwood (Bolton on Dearne) or The No 7 in Barnsley, either way a pint was 2 bob.

Three Horseshoes in Wombwell for a Christmas party downstairs. Probably 84 or 85, so would have been 13 or 14. God knows how much it cost but could barely walk by the end of it.
