Hearing that rest of season is to be played behind closed doors? Apparently Radio Sheff reporting it.. Anyone heard the same?
That last sentence of statement, does it mean they want the players to take annual leave while everybody is in lockdown or am i missing something.
Plus it still doesn't address the thing about players being out of contract etc. Not convinced this will happen tbh. Bigger picture is peoples safety, football at the end of the day can wait as long as it needs to.
So then is it the season that is around 80% completed that we should pretend was never started or the season that hasn't been started that we should accept as never started? Seems completely illogical to me that people think it makes more sense to write off 80% of a season and hope they can then somehow fit in a new one than it does to write off one that doesn't exist and instead finish the 20% of the one that's almost completed. Its a bit like being a builder who has a contract to build a house for Mr jones, an house for Mrs Wilson and then an entire block ofn60 properties for Mr Euro (weird name I know) Now the builder scheduled in Mr jones' house first and Mrs Wilson's for straight afterwards. With the development former euro coming afterwards. The builder starts work on Mr jones' house and gets three quarters of the way through it with just the roof to put on and finishing touches to do. Sadly something happens which means Mr builder can't work for a few months. Mr Jones has already paid him so poor Mr Jones can't get in another builder or anything, the only way his house gets built is when this builder is able to complete it. The builder knows he may not be able to do all three jobs. But Mr euros development is the most important to him he can't cancel that. Should the builder finish mr jones' house and cancel Mrs Wilson's or leave Mr jones' house fully paid for but half finished and move straight on to Mrs Wilson's?
It shouldn't bother our team, the defence always maintains at least a 2 metre distance from all attacking players, and each other
Well I know tradesmen who are in that exact situation. 3 quarters of the way through a job, another one lined up and then a big job after. They've cancelled the middle small job. Commited to finishing the smaller job that is started and are just hoping that they will be able to do the big job
Players won't want this, cramming games isn't safe. Brian Howard said other night he's got clients lined up for new moves on more money. They won't to risk injury by playing a stupid amount of games in a short time frame. It's all about the money from TV, let those in debt suffer. They've made their bed, let those who run clubs responsibly be the standard bearers for once. If the TV money wasn't the issue how many teams would honestly want to complete the season? Only those fighting for titles or promotion. Most of which don't run a tight ship.
I'll ask again. Why cancel this one and commit to one that doesn't yet exist instead of if necessary cancelling that one and continuing this? I've seen many people say that should happen but no real reasons why it should
Do you want the job finished by apprentices because the tradesmen went to another firm possibly a rival or do you want them to start a new build after a proper recruitment drive .
