What a great and lovely bloke. Loved his ‘singing’ on I’m sorry I haven’t a clue. Will be greatly missed. ‘Clue’ will never be the same again.
Another great loss, one of the original writers and performers in the Four Yorkshiremen sketch from At last, the 1948 show, which pre-dated Python. Also brilliant on Clue.
Much more of a fan of The Goodies than Python. Somebody once said to me . " Tha's got to be intelligent to understand Python " That was me Fckeud. . Wasn't aware of the original 4 Yorkshiremen sketch. One of my favourites. Didn't need to be educated for that one. RIP TIM.
This has affected me more than anything else today. We are losing far too many lovely people to this horrible, horrible virus. So many legends leaving us. And I'm sorry to say that today I really hate whoever originated this vile disease. I'm finding it hard to cope with all this sad loss. Help me please.
Very sad news. Absolutely loved The Goodies, back in the 70s they were the business. Spent many a school hour re-living and laughing about the previous night's show. RIP Tim.
Listen to the Radio show I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again . It is repeated on Radio 4 extra and accessible on You Tube . You can enjoy the many talents of TBT . Do not only mourn his passing but enjoy what he has left behind . Listening/watching comedy cheers me up in these dark times . Be safe and prosper .
I don't want this post to detract from the deaths of the thousands of people from Covid19, including those working without adequate protection in the front line, but just seeing the news about the death of Tim Brooke-Taylor from this awful virus has really saddened me. It's another statistic in the grand scheme of this, but a loss to the world of comedy. Being able to raise a laugh or smile during tough times is great therapy, think of Tim, The Goodies, and my own favourite, his appearances on Radio 4's "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" and do just that. A nice legacy. RIP TBT
I first came across TBT in "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" in the 60s. This was the Radio version of Python. It spawned: At last the 1948 Show, Do not adjust Your Set and of course Monty Python's Flying Circus. He will be missed.
I enjoyed watching TBT as I referred to him. So much so that whilst a student in 1978 I had a union jack waist coat made for me. I still have it today.
