For simply working from home, in New Zealand they ,and other top brass, are taking a 20% cut in solidarity with their citizens who are suffering financially. We're in it all together....my ar5e
Is that a payment to ensure MPs staff get the correct equipment to carry on running the consituancy offices as opposed to the MPs getting the cash.. Its still an awfully large amount of money.
Not sure what it's for seeing as they seem to be able to claim everything needed on expenses to start with.
That's no attitude to have!!! Everyone knows that by all being in it together you ignore worrying trends beginning to be reported in other countries, allow a major sporting event attracting over 250,000 people to go ahead, shake hands with others and continue to meet them knowing full well they have been exposed to the virus, educate everyone except your dad that you shouldn't go to the pub, and check out the health services already vastly overstretched resources personally by "taking one for the team" That woman and her country will suffer through her lack of compassion and crass stupidity
I read somewhere that it was to compensate for the extra hours they had to work during this time. This was before Parliament was suspended though, so not really sure now, not that I agreed with it anyway.
It is to provide a suitable home office environment for their employees. I think that comes under the Health & Safety Display Screen regulations - All employers are technically liable for this, but many of us don't claim.
I’m no apologist for MP’s but this... https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/f...-100000-extra-work-home-expenses-fund-2536073
