Well....if this is true it’s the biggest hint for null and void yet! Well in terms of relegation and the remaining games anyway! It’s also exactly what I’ve been saying regards the contracts being the biggest issue, June 30th is getting closer!!
Wonder if our club will exercise their option of a further year on Alex Mowatt’s contract which I understand expires this Summer. It would be a big gamble either way
Wow, is this definitely real? It sounds about right to be - can't see it restarting at this point. Maybe we'll be staying up!
Its real but it's a player of theirs not the manager. I'm surprised he's allowed (as the PFA rep) to ask the question in such a loaded way
I really don't understand how sporting merit can be used to promote teams but not relegate them. Surely has to be none or both.
So Coventry, Rotherham & Oxford come up. That's the bottom 3 sorted next season, so we just need to find two more teams worse than us.
Would it not be just 3 up from league 2 due to Bury going bust. If you look at just promoting teams in automatic slots that would be 2 up to premier league taking it to 22, 2 up to championship keeping it at 24, 3 up to league 1 again taking it to 24. As for league 2 if just Barrow went up that would be 22 so if they wanted to leave it at that for a season it would work or promote 3 to make 24. Things would probably need levelling off season after. Not sure why three would go up from any other leagues as the premier would have 23 which doesn’t seem right. All hypothesis but seems most realistic if season can’t be finished.
I thought restructuring way forward but listening to Gary on 606 the unassuming chap made a valid point. World Cup is in December 2022 so can look towards working seasons to fit with this. As the nature of the disease is that it could come back at any stage why don't we just relax about when league is finished. Let's be honest we didn't do much to say we should stay up but at least we still have that chance. The transfer windows should be scrapped (never agreed with them) to allow flexibility particularly as we don't know what's round the corner. So at the moment we just wait until we are on top of Covid.
I genuinely believe with the same squad and the way we shut up shop better towards the latter end, we will cope quite well. Mid table. One thing I will say about this group of lads. They had commitment to the team in abundance.
Think a main reason to do it that way would be that it limits the number of potential law suits from disgruntled clubs.
