Yeah pretty much what I was getting at, the pfi schemes were not good and many trusts are crippled because of them.
They weren’t crippling the NHS under Labour only when the Tories got in and put their interpretation on how they should be paid back .
Why? The interviews I've seen her do she comes across as far more balanced, thoughtful and sensible than Boris. And to my knowledge she's never hidden in a f***ing fridge!
The Tories prior to blair I know that but jesus why follow suite it has really effected trusts in my area! Like I said previously in this thread blair killed more than 30k innocent Iraqis in his 1st few weeks of his illegal war, no matter which government had been in charge at the time of this pandemic it would have resulted in a recession but to the extent of that is down to how it is handled and it looks bleak tbh.
I’ll leave it at that your sounding like a trump supporter now when defending everything he does . As Jay said labour did a lot of bad and a lot of good and as the scheme was introduced under the Tory’s Blairs philosophy was better to have them than not which was the previous Tory philosophy . I damned Blair for going to war with the yanks but not for building hospitals . The fact the debt is the NHSs and not the govts is Tory policy.
You must have misread what I have posted then clearly I havent defended anyone just put another spin on it from.the one sided red specs you wear. Si thi
The majority of posts in this thread have conceded no one knows what would have happened under another govt but you’ve just stated they all would have suffered recession . Maybe maybe not but it’s the Tories that’s in power , I don’t know if you’ve read the other posts but blaming anyone else or saying we would still be in this mess or worse is hypothetical . Imo labour would have taken WHO advice as did Korea ,Australia etc and we wouldn’t have had lockdown fir as long nor the casualties . But it’s Hypothetical the Tory’s are in charge yet people are still defending them by comparing other political party’s hypothetical actions .
I think any government would have suffered recession because any government would have taken us into lockdown. Closing down industries like hairdressers, airlines, pubs, restaurants, high street retail etc indefinitely along with that job losses. would have imo resulted in a recession with a big knock on effect to other industries.
Exactly ! You think they would but you can’t say for sure but you’d rather post about what you think an opposition party would do than what’s actually happening with the Tories . The Tory Party and it’s supporters have dined out for ten years about the financial crash of 2008 since they came to power and bestowed austerity upon us . This even though the evidence was they would have done the exact same a Blair but with even less restrictions on Banks . Ten years and now they still coming out with hypotheticals about someone else to divert the **** they’ve bestowed upon us .
Recession, "you an't seen anything yet" wait while this self-inflicted Brexit hits in on top of this pandemic. All us blebs will get hammered while the rich with their money stashed away in offshore tax-free havens like the Cayman Islands will lap it up people like Richard Desmond, Rupert Murdoch, Jonathan Harmsworth, David and Fred Barcley these p1llocks pay no U.K. tax and yet own 80% of the U.K. media what have these multi-billionaires done to help in this pandemic and you get an old 99-year-old man tramming round his garden to raise money it all stinks.
I you don’t agree that labour were bad at dealing with the worldwide stock market crash, sending us into recession..., But you’re happy to say that the Tories are bad at dealing with a probably more devastating worldwide crisis. In fact bang on about them being in power at the time of all this happening. Now I know we don’t know all the ifs and maybes of what will happen. But surely you can agree that whichever Government were in this situation, there would be a recession...?
To be fair the financial crisis was largely unforeseen. Coronavirus has been like a 5,000 decibel marching band making its way here from China at 1mph for the past few months. We even had the benefit of Italy showing us what lied 2 weeks ahead and we still f*cked it.
