....for doing things wrong and making mistakes why not look at it the other way round and look at what decisions they've got right and how well they've done? I'll start...Er......Er.....
Maybe someone else could have a go. There are quite a few Boris lovers on here I believe

I think the furlough scheme is one thing they've got right, and the first spell of lockdown ( albeit they should have acted sooner)

We need something to do and tbh they have made it ridiculously easy. Can any Tories on here say they wouldn't have criticised Labour if they'd done the same?

I remember the days before Xmas when there was lots of Labour/Corbyn bashing. In fact there's still Corbyn bashing now....

It was too complicated and too many people fell outside its bounds - including our own John Peachey (at least). I suspect a lefter-leaning government would have implemented some form of UBI and a separate mechanism to protect businesses.

The lockdown itself was not restrictive enough so the rate is falling slower than in other countries. If you look at the horrible 32000+ figures, then the slope of the curve you can see that it could easily double.

Is it Tory bashing to criticise Johnson for missing the 1st 5 National Emergency meetings (due to holidaying & Tory fundraising)? Is it Tory bashing to point out that, at the time when he said no physical contact, then brag about shaking hands with covid victims? Is it Tory bashing to point out that Jenrick said Stay at Home, then went to another home & drove 100 miles to deliver prescriptions to his parents? Is it Tory bashing to point out that you can’t count “they’re in the post” (the cheques in the post, honest, Guv) tests because they’ve not been done? Is it Tory bashing to point out that the government have been comparing us with other countries every day (on their bloody graphs) but when it looks bad say “You can’t compare countries”? Is it Tory bashing to note that people were flying in untested (cos said no point) but now saying that there is a point?
The proper lockdown was their best move (but too late) as is Sunak’s Furlough scheme.
Still, what if Corbyn ... ,eh!

I voted Conservative because they were the only party wanting to leave the EU. That doesn't make me a Tory. It's just a Conservative voter. Politics has changed and people like myself vote tactically to try and get what they want.

When Boris did his acceptance speech after winning the election he made reference to this. He said words to the effect of thanks for voting. I know a few of you were torn about not voting Labour...

I think I fall into that category. I won't apologise for the way I voted. However, I'm appalled at the way things have been handled thus far during the pandemic.

What this crisis points to is there used to be some principled MPs in the Tory party. The Tory party is now Boris and posh friends, new comers must adhere to the rules written by Cummings (they're too lazy and inept to write them).
It's nothing more than a cult, no different to the Trump, guns and racism party in America.

This is the Bullingdon Club in all its glory, without restraints. Never take responsibility for anything, especially from those born to serve us!

And folk voted for them thinking they were the party of the people (English).
Remember Grenfell....lack of common sense but they were black and brown people or the simplest form of serfs.
Cuts to local government and public services , not our fault, blame those actually there to help who have had budgets cut to the bone.

But, but, but Vera Lynn, Spam, the Queen Mum, bendy bananas, Tampons, Fishing Trawlers, PC brigade, Corbyn, socialists, communists all the same, not real Ingerlanders, Tommy Robinson, Alf Garnett, Like it used to be!!!

If it’s criticising the Govt it’s Tory Bashing and unfair if it’s to criticise Corbyn or the Labour Party it’s ok .

These references only work if there’s no discrimination, your hatred of Corbyn and the Labour Party disqualifies you for this imo .

We live in a democracy, you ve every right to vote whichever way you choose. I cant say I'm surprised at the way things have turned out and tbh I'm dreading what happens with Brexit. At the end of the day most people want the same things, financial security, peace , education , healthcare, a family and housing.

Nice quotes, had any of those people mentioned above overseen a current minimum of 40k avoidable deaths? Had they knowingly sent their own medics into a losing battle without adequate PPE? Had they knowingly allowed the disease to spread into care homes killing our elderly relatives?
Those quoted could communicate and many could also lead. I somehow doubt any of Boris' quotes will be lauded over in years to come.

The chancellor is the person coming out of the whole mess looking the best. When he appeared on the big night in charity event the other week looking like a normal person in jumper and faded jeans at home rather than as a guy in the cabinet, he even got the nickname Dishy Rishi.
