This is what happens when you have a dithering govt with no real plans and clues of where to go .
The Tory way is put the blame somewhere else divide and deflect criticisms

Unless I've missed it they've dropped all mention of,

    "Following the science"

I read this and thought of those buses and no tracing capabilities.

I hope that I'm wrong, I really do, but all logic and sense - to me at least - suggests we're going to see a real spike in cases, and deaths in the next 14 days.

Sky having a go at people doing as they are told, whilst Mogg has a very good idea of the government leading by example and showing everyone how safe it is to be cooped up in an enclosed space with lots of other people.

It's good the numbers are falling and broadly speaking you can't argue with the trend downwards. However we'll have to wait 7-14 days to see if the number of reported cases increase as a result of letting people go back to work. Personally I can't see how it can't fail to go up, the question is by how much...

I think what also needs taking into account was the 279 and 210 were false numbers of deaths.

Totally agree, they might well have wiped out the effects of lockdown in one fell swoop.
Thing is what IS the alternative except staying in lockdown
I wouldn’t contemplate driving through London with the amount of traffic and the bloody stupid different permits needed.
Not everybody is fit o walk or ride a bike ( mind wouldn’t ride of them down there either)and presumably the ones travelling are the ones that can’t work from home and it’s only going to get worse when the shops open!

Just been reading that Marks and Spencer are planning to open the
Cafes in some of its outlets from tomorrow. Absolute madness in my
    opinion. Far too soon.

Inevitable, we'll be back in lockdown before we've left. How can people return to work in Central London without using public transport when they couldn't possibly afford a house within twenty miles of where they work?

It's what Redstone was on about. Firms will be scared of losing ground on their competitors.

Many shops won't open again. Retail outlets on high streets will die. Cash only, queuing to get in when you can order online (that will get worse when it goes cold/wet/dark again), one way system around the shop with a door to get in and a door to leave, trying to not block doors of other neighbouring shops whilst your customers are waiting to get in, single person shopping so couples and those with kids will find it tough and less rails inside to make getting around easier.

They may as you say wipe out the effects of lockdown by these actions .
All the time we were in lockdown This govt have wasted opportunities to get testing equipment and in use .
It’s been done in other less richer countries to a high and somewhat successful means .
We should be by now coming out of lockdown with a robust attempt at test and trace . Instead because the two power grabbers were out of action the inept clueless twerps didn’t know how to function without their remotes .

We're heading for a second spike and total lock down. No public transport and NHS workers like myself falling foul of the system because we'll be classed as awol.

Would the spike from people returning to work, or would the spike be from the VE Day Shenanigans? They might be hiding the result of their failure to lead last week - which allegedly saw Stanley Johnson (again!) and Dominic Cummings visiting family despite the lockdown - by blaming the people for not displaying common sense on Monday and today...
