I can only assume the visit didn’t give him cause for concern, however, as with ‘ordinary’ H and S visits a one off visit can easily be ‘accommodated’ for. If these concerns/allegations are proven to be correct then whoever is responsible should carry the can. I’m also concerned that because Asos has a large number of ‘foreign’ workers it could spark xenophobic type attention.
more than likely they would have had a phone call telling them they were getting a visit from the H and S dept at the council
Probably, hope it’s all unfounded, not because of politics, but as I’ve already mentioned the Xenophobic connotations, and my Daughter’s partner works in the offices there
As I work in the warehouse and I have from nearly when it opened I'd like to point out firstly when I first started working at the warehouse a big proportion where foreign but over the past couple years a lot of english people who have started working at the warehouse but yes a lot are still foreign Second as I was at the warehouse when they had people looking around it near enough changed over night (about a week after lockdown started they started to change) social distancing is observed by the majority of people but some just cant stay away from each other, face masks not mandatory so a small proportion wear them majority dont bother
Not saying there is, I’m just concerned that there could well be Xenophobic intentions amongst the genuine outrage if this is true
Our office changed almost overnight after lockdown, Social distancing is observed but often and very briefly not, due to restrictions. I haven’t seen anyone wearing a mask.
Report on bbc news about it ASOS bosses are sure that it wasn’t contracted on site they might not have but if they have been working then it could have been passed on to others
In the mirror it says "Of the nine people affected, close to half had not been on site for more than two weeks before testing positive for the virus, and all have self-isolated at home, in line with government guidance" No idea what close to half means? Does it mean 5 of them still went into work and then day after got tested positive? If so it could well be spreading around the warehouse now, they dont say much about it keeping things under wraps
I’m not so sure that any workplace can confidently say that someone Who’s tested positive did or didn’t Become infected at work. Someone at work who self-isolated for 7 days came back to work and then a few days after tested positive for the virus. Now had she taken a test and shown positive the first time she could still Have returned to work after 7 days had the symptoms subsided. All we can do is be vigilante and adhere to the advice given.
4000 plus people work there most probably use public transport so it could affect others that don’t even work there
We have not allowed anyone into our house and have not come into contact with any of our family. My wife has not been out of the house since lockdown as she is being shielded. I have only left the house and come into contact with anybody once a week for shopping. I work full-time though on a hospital ward. 99% of my contact with anyone else therefore is at work. I would strongly argue therefore that if I contracted the virus that it would have come from work. (Don't use public transport either). Edit# which completely negates my highly vulnerable wife's shielding
Do you also think Boris should be sacked for allowing Cheltenham to go ahead, or the country to remain open for that week in the name of "herd immunity"?
Unfortunately (and importantly here) our Govt is recommending 7 days isolation and the WHO are saying 14 days. your colleague would still have been at home in most countries
