Reape what you sow. If they hadn't sold our top scorer and both center backs after promotion and brad potts last january I wouldnt take anything off them.
No point going over that again other than they all wanted to go , we got promoted despite selling Messi Potts and we’ve always been a selling club during my time supporting BFC , 50+ years . I think we’ll have to wait and see what the club are going to do I haven’t read anything that other clubs have refunded money already or offered a discount on next season in lieu of the missed games
If JD was still in charge I’m sure there’s a few people would want their shares back that they had in their families for generations before a part season ticket refund
I don't want mine back. I understand other people have a different point of view and I have no beef with them at all. Each to their own with no judgement. My reasoning, for what it's worth: None of this is the club's fault. If money gets tight, I don't believe our owners will put in a single penny to help save us. I don't believe in our owners, I think they're charlatans, I think the billionaire story is laughable. But I don't think they're thieves either, and the money from my season ticket will not go to any of them. If they're not going to prop up the club, which I don't think they will, then someone might have to. In my opinion that has to be us. The money from the six games, or whatever it is we haven't played, may not be much, but that's my contribution. I have no problem with anyone who doesn't feel the same.
Perversely, that could turn out to be some of the best transfer business by Barnsley FC, especially if we end up staying in the Championship. Three players who didn’t want to be here for differing reasons, gone for decent money. Pinnock would have been gone at the end of June on a free, and the fees we got for Moore and Lindsay would be a lot more then we’d get at the end of this season. Granted, the players brought in so far haven’t been the greatest, but when the season starts we have contracted players who will hopefully get better the longer they are here. Plus, salary wise, I’d doubt we are paying out much more for all the new signings from foreign lower leagues then we were for 4 British players (including Potts) who were signed by, at the time, a Championship club.
Wouldn’t want or ask for one. Each individual’s finances could influence their decision and I’m lucky enough to know I can absorb it. If asked I would also pay for next season’s if I knew it would help the club survive. I don’t buy in to this rich owners footing the bill I don’t want my club to be that reliant on a few individuals.
I know they wanted to go, it's just the contracts they had left the fees we got for them, the players we replaced them with, for example patrick schmidt for kieffer moore?? Anderson for pinnock?? And the way the fans have been treated all season which leaves a bad taste with me.
I won't be asking for or chasing for a refund. I'm not happy with the way the owners have behaved this season but for the sake of a few quid I don't want to do anything that might impact on the club.
I think it falls into " spent" money for me as in its already out of my account so forgotten about. The biggie will be next season's season ticket that I haven't yet allocated money for.
The fact they haven't emailed or mailed season ticket owners letting them know whats happening is nothing short of disgraceful. the season is over fan wise for going to the ground to watch the games its not of case of i don't want or they can keep it. unless there's something in the small print( act of god clause) that nobody's aware of the money should/has to be auto refunded to everyone and it should have already been done so they cannot ask you if you want the money back or not it has to be given back as a matter of law unless there is said clause you haven't got what you paid agreed to they haven't forfulled there side of the contract simple question to everyone who says i don't want my money back. if it was the other way round and you hadn't payed off your season ticket and you owed the 60/70 quid do you think the club would they let you off and say forget about it or would they take legal action to get the money off you. they would take every single one of you to court. The club has no interest whatsoever in any of mine or any other fans financial situation or hardship and i have no interest in theirs if we are struggling or in debt or if we have a company business that could go bankrupt because what is happening in the world does any one think they would help any one of you out in the same way people are saying they will help them out. letting a wealth management investment fund whose "Only" objective is to make money for the investors of that group keep the money. Not sure what to say Mindboggling
but are they refusing to play ST? the remaining games behind closed doors in Championship, so a grey area now EDIT, they were going to show the games live on Ifollow weren't they?
I dont think it should be seen as a bad thing or a slur on anyones credibility to ask or seek a refund. The club is run as a business and this has been demonstrated on many occasions under the new regime. They want all finances to be self funding so the club finances aren't coming from their pocket but from the club itself. The club should be self sufficient. But therefore customer transactions like this should also follow normal business rules. For people to therefore have a refund for unfilled obligations should be the norm. Now, what people choose to do with that money or even if they accept the refund is up to them. Personally i know what i would choose to do, but i am interested to know what will be proposed by the club. It's clear the EFL and Prem are dead set on finishing the season, with or without the fans and i won't pay for iFollow or see it as a compensation given the pure service i received from iFollow in the past.
I parted ways with my season ticket. So if I get a refund I'll be giving the money to the person it departed to.
