Who do we expect to be sold in the summer? Obviously with what Dane was saying a few week back wouldnt be suprised to see our better players sold to re coup the losses from covid. Conway is considering legal action if Wednesday and derby arent docked points to potentially recoup the loss of relegation. So that will leave covid as the excuse to sell along with they wanted to go. Jacob brown- alot of interest in january will probley be replaced by elliot simoes. Cauley Woodrow- definitely too good for league one should get a decent fee but with this lot probley 3 million and replaced with a ex postman from new port. Alex mowatt-- the club chose to extend his deal but if he doesnt sign the contract offered we will look to sell. Ritzmare ready made replacement. Kerching..
I don't really care to be honest. Plenty of other stuff to occupy mi' sen with. Sick of yo yoing between League 1 and Championship without making a proper fist of it.
Not sure as I doubt anyone will be paying silly money this Summer. We would be mad to sell Cawley for £3million now We need to bounce straight back up = and if we keep the majority of the squad we should be able to do that - Sell Woodrow Brown and Mowatt and we are looking at trying to stay up rather than coming straight back up
I dont mind league one the away days are decent Fleetwood, accrington, blackpool now they have fans again, Lincoln, it's just disappointing how the owners have let us down this season after lapping all the praise up last season.
What's point bouncing back , following season will be relegated again more than likely. Think it's me done for foreseeable, until things change.this temporary lull in games as actually shown we can function without football
I dont think it will be easy to bounce back next time at all. A few players I'm not convinced could do a job in league one, anderson, schmidt, ritzmare and possibly diaby I think will still struggle in league one the sad thing is in those 4 there is about 2million quid worth of players.
I don’t know how anyone think L1 teams could afford to play games behind closed doors. I also suspect that we will sue the EFL for not implementing their own rules the FFP
We say that everytime we go down. If it hadn't been for a Lee Johnson brain fart after winning 6 on bounce we'd have gone up at first attempt time before last.
It’s hard to say at this early stage though surely? Davies got pelters when we went down, didn’t he get in the team of the season? Mowatt had been out on loan and then was arguably our best player. Thiam was poor in the championship, scored some great goals in league one. McGeehan was shipped out, did well last year. There’s more but I’ll stop now. The gap between the divisions is pretty big so there’s a chance that a lot of our players will excel/be decent in league 1. In my opinion of course.
We weren't good enough last time we came down wilson was too negative and he wasnt sacked until February that season. Alex ferguson wouldnt have got us promoted with that squad far too much deadwood, and a few good teams if I remember right mk Don's had a good squad with dele Ali, Bristol city were strong, Chesterfield and preston.
Jury's still out for me havent seen enough of him goes missing quite often. His goal against millwall and neat finish v stoke say they must be something the but very lightweight.
Woodrow if anything above £5m and Brown if anything above £2m comes in. We'll piss league 1 again Let's hope we don't have to though.
I hate all this "we ll piss league 1" stuff. I'd love it if we did but Portsmouth, Peterborough arent going to roll over for us let alone the two teams we come down with. Doesn't look like Barton will be locked up either and Fleetwood did well last season ( well this season) under him.
Woodrow and Mowatt (and a few others) won't be Barnsley players come next season (whenever that might be) regardless of League 1 or Championship status; I'll take bets if people are up for it. Serious money only. Don't come at with me a fiver. And they won't get sold for anywhere near the mad figures that people are suggesting; football is a money desert right now.
