How many promotions and relegations have you experienced?

Just wondering who may have seen the most promotions on this message board.

With myself only being 36 years old and watching the reds since 1993, I have experienced 4x promotions in 1997, 2006, 2016, 2019 and 4x (soon to be 5x) relegations in 1998, 2002, 2014, 2018. Don’t think I’ve missed any off.

The worst relegation performance wise would be the 2014 one but this season could run that close.

 

all since 1961, so thats 7 of each I think.

Four promotions for me 1997, 2006, 2016 and 2019.
Four relegations up to press re-1998, 2002, 2014, 2018.

Worst season for me, was 2001/2002. We were in the drop zone when Steve Parkin was
brought in from Rochdale as our new manager. When he came in, he said he had an encyclopaedic
knowledge of all the players in the lower divisions and with what little money he did have he
set about signing some of the worst players ever to don the red famous jersey, Gary Jones being a
classic case in point.

I will never forget the abject feeling of desperation and acceptance that relegation was inevitable as we
trooped out of Millmoor after a morale sapping 1-1 draw with Rotherham in the December of 2001. Parkin was
the worst manager we have ever had in my book. He was even worse than Spackman and that takes some doing.!

What we didn't realise at the time, was that worse was yet to come, when following the collapse of the ITV
Digital deal and the overhaul of the transfer markets, the Board had no choice but to place the Club in administration.
Very dark days indeed, that we can only hope, are never repeated in the future.

But I always feel the 2002 relegation was worse. Remember being at that Norwich game and feeling like not 1 single player seemed to care. At all

Everyone since promotion in 1997, when I was growing I thought being a tarn fan was boring. 10 years of second tier football and few good cup games. Started going in 87 but properly in 1989.

This year is a weird one - utterly shambolic at the back and terribly ran by the board, BUT at least the players actually seem to care this time, unlike 2014

4 promotions, 4 relegations, 1 millennium stadium appearance, 1 old Wembley appearance, 3 new Wembley appearances.

All since 1997, nowt happened from 84 onwards.
