3 MPs? (Kinnock and Ali I know about) - or did you mean Johnson - left hospital to second home (against rules) - with his fiance or Jenrick?
You’ve already said in other threads that you think they’re doing a good job, But what about Corbyn eh?
Starmer can't be seen to say anything imo. As soon as he does you get the STOP TRYING TO SCORE POLITICAL POINTS WERE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER brigade frothing at the mouth. He's just got to bide his time and act when he can. Which he has been doing in PMQs each week - as he wipes the floor with Johnson constantly. This while government is a complete shambles. The worst thing to note in all of this, is that due to the Cummings debacle over the last week, more people have lost their lives and the death toll continues to rise.
I think there are three things to consider here. Point 1: Boris Johnson is not running the country any more (if he ever was). Dominic Cummings is the man in charge. Boris is just his mouthpiece. How else was he allowed to get off scott free without even an apology for the furore he's caused, let alone his actions. Point 2: He's been instrumental in writing the Lockdown Rulebook so if anyone knows a loophole he does. The man who makes the rules always knows how to get round them. Point 3: If the country adopts a "it's all right for Cummings so it's all right for me approach" the blame for any future spike in the pandemic can be laid squarely at his door. The only thing keeping Johnson and Cummings in place is that the Tory Grandees do not yet have a natural successor and can't afford to have a Leadership Battle in the middle of what's going on at the moment.
Double Post. But whilst I'm here, I may as well say, if you do vote Tory next time round, then Christ I'd love to know why. I get why people have fallen out of love with Labour, but to vote Tory after this is a disgrace
But before we do, I think there’s one thing to bear in mind. In my opinion, the Cummings thing is about more than just a car journey. It’s about morality – being able to tell the difference between ‘right’ and ‘wrong.’ You don’t need to understand the letter of the law, for most of us its instinctive, part of being human. That’s why so many people across all backgrounds are so outraged – morality isn’t about politics, religion, left or right. Last night Cummings could have got himself off the hook very, very easily. Having come out with everything he did, he could have concluded that, “even though I weighed up all the options and felt I was doing the right thing at the time, I now have to admit to regrets about what I did and am sorry if I’ve upset so many people.” Daily Mail headlines: “Cummings says sorry!” Job done. No problems. But he didn’t. That’s not because he didn’t want to say the words ‘sorry’ or ‘regret’, but because he can’t. With no concept of right and wrong he wouldn’t even understand why journalists were pushing him in that direction. It was the right thing for him to do - the effects on anyone else? Not a consideration. As far as I can see, Johnson and Cummings are a moral vacuum. They don’t see themselves as liars because without morality there is no truth and there are no lies. While we waste our time picking over their every move looking for the truth, they’ll keep on doing whatever they want to do. So long as they achieve their aims, the consequences for you and me are irrelevant. So yes, let’s move on. Let’s get down the shops. Let’s get Brexit done. It might all go well. It might not. You might lose your job, your home. Your parents, partner, children might become ill. They might die. You might die. But don’t worry. We’ll all ‘move on’ with new slogans into a ‘new normal’ where everyone’s sense of right and wrong is eroded day after day. Johnson and Cummings won’t care what happens to us. Because they can’t. Good luck.
You may be correct, but I was responding to people saying Boris would be lost without him not why he’s still there.
Well that was my view in December It was clear Boris would be a useless PM based on his track record why vote for someone clearly as dishonest and dishonorable as that clown - clearly no one prediced the Coronavirus but there was bound to be something so I am not the least bit surprised at the way things have turned out. The fact that Cummings is unsackable means either Boris doesnt think he can act without him or Cummings has some inconvenient info on him - either are bad for us. Compare the cabinet reaction to Fergusen who was post Covid and out of self isolation, not infectious and uninfectable having contact with one extra person at his own home. Much indignation and insistence his position was such that he had to go - a valid position to take though open to a bit of debate as whether it was really necessary for him to resign. To their reaction now to someone who drove the length of the country with a symptomatic wife - visited hospital to collect said wife and kid whilst symptomatic himself and then drove 30 miles to a public beauty spot whilst symptomatic and by his own admission not fit to drive - and the same people who hounded Fergusen out are saying Cummings did nothing wrong you couldn't make it up I defy anyone to find a labour government or shadow cabinet that even comes close to taking the British public for such gullible fools
Labour need to get why people have fallen out with labour, if they do and Starmer isn’t another Tony Blair then I think they could do very well now that the commies have been kicked into touch.
Move on, can you imagine what all those folk who have had to endure the passing of a loved one from a distance & not been able to mourn their loss, I would imagine their grief is multiplied I think mine would after what that complete ***T has done, you are right about they don't care though.
So Kinnock and Ali - both minor backbench MP's with no position in the shadow cabinet to resign from - who is the 3rd? I count at least 2 Tories Jenrick - who basically did the same as Kinnock who hasnt been sanctioned either - he does have a position in government not a back bencher though and Johnson - who everyone is ignoring No idea on 2 SNP MP's - who are they - the scottish CMO resigned for visiting a second home but she wasnt an MP not aware of any SNP MP's misbehaving - if you have info please let us know The Irish guy is irrelevant
So Cummings goes to see Boris on Sunday, Boris gives him his backing but cant put any meat on the bones of the story at the presser, but whilst fudging all the question and blaming the press for lying, it did give Cummings and goings all the questions the press had. So with that knowledge Cummings had best part of 24 hours to come up with a story that could include sightings by the public and try for the sympathetic parenting angle. Boris in his next briefing still answered no questions referring to it all being dealt with earlier that day. Boris has gone from PM, to PM of England to PM of bugger all. He`s proving to be what a lot suspected.
The loophole he has apparently exploited was there to protect families in abusive relationships and not Government SPADs. Also interesting reading is his wife's lockdown diaries in the Spectator (available on-line, you don't have to buy the rag) that consistently implied they were in London and not on a private estate in Durham. Total one rule for plebs, doesn't apply to us. The man believes he is a genius, and therefore does not even have to say sorry. The rest of us are too dumb to even challenge his superiority. Glad I left the country, and in good news the ROI had zero deaths from Covid 19 yesterday.
