I didn't ask you to fire him though I asked if you THINK he should be. As it's still supposedly a free country we are still allowed to express an opinion regardless of whether we have the power to do the firing. What crime would you charge the newspaper witness with? Giving a false comment to a newspaper? He didn't speak to police at all by the way.
Apart from the chain of evidence from Baroness Armstrong.. Apart from the lies around a 2and trip, Apart from the mob protests outside his home.. Witch Hunt all round I'm afraid. I'm not in a pickle, just not blinkered by the BBC.
He confirmed that he didn't lie to the police which is why Durham police only ever commented on or investigated the initial trip and the day out at Barnard castle
Looks like a copy paste job to me.. Your views, respect that, I just disagree. I also don't stick up for people who lie to the police for a joke and expect to get away with it.
60miles. He didn't teleport back. That's something which our poor journalists didn't hit him hard with. Well it's one of many things really.
What? Cummings wasn't allowed to be there. The teacher went and picked his daughter up AFTER the rules were relaxed. I'm not sure which reports you're reading which say they happened at the same time
Please point out where I am defending Cummings! I keep saying if he has broken the rules of course he should face the law. We can't have moved rule though deciding the punishment. Same goes for the bloke who lied to the police.
Did Cummings break the rules by going back to work after finding his partner with suspected COVID? Yes. Did Cummings break the rules by driving 260 miles? Yes. Did Cummings break the rules by staying at a second property? Yes. Did Cummings break the rules by driving to a beauty spot on the day of his partner’s birthday? Yes. It really is as cut and shut as that.
From my observations of the country this week - he has utterly destroyed the 2nd most important public health message of my lifetime (after ‘wear a condom’). The nation is fuming - and the reaction of a significant number of them is ‘lockdown is over - I won’t be treated like a fool’. if you think there’s any defence for that - that’s your choice, but for me - there really isn’t.
we must have missed your outrage when a bloke drive for an hour and a half, to a tourist destination and stopped at a beauty spot... on his wife’s birthday, with his family in the car..... just to test his eyesight.
Did Cummings break the rules by driving to an hospital to pick up his wife (who shouldn't have been there) and son whilst under the belief that he had covid-19 and was highly infectious with a killer virus? Yes
I know he had a lot of crap thrown at him yeah, I just never quite believed that his spending could be achieved without smashing the country. I don't buy into these morons going to peoples houses renting and raving outside on the street though with Cummings. Mob rule isn't the aay this country needs to go.
Let's be honest about this. If Cummings had just fronted up, right at the start and said I'm sorry - we panicked over childcare and I've been a pillock, I can see this now and I'm really, really sorry, then we'd have 'moved on' to bairnin' about something else by now. The fact that he lied from the off, got the PM and senior ministers of state to back up that lie, and stuck to the story despite every single piece of evidence proving the contrary, is what has ensured this story will not go away. He and those that back him are utter frauds, plain and simple.
I said that if he lied to the police then he should be done for wasting police time. Did he lie to the police though? Or did he make a joke on social media that other people reported to the police?
It wasn't aimed at you - I didn't quote you. It was just a general question. You do seem to be doing a lot of bairning though for someone not defending Cummings
