Reports of people queuing for hours to get in - some arriving as early as 5.45 am!! Why??!! Are swathes of the population living in rooms devoid of furniture, sleeping on and eating off the floor?
Oh dear better make sure the Mrs knows that there a long queues and so we wont be going there for a bit slight tangent but I drove to our local homebase on Saturday took one look at the queue going round the car park and just drove straight home again. Ordered the one thing I really needed from screwfix and went there and picked it up in 2 minutes with their click and collect.
If you want some idea of what Hell might be like make a visit sometime - Id rather go clothes shopping with the Mrs than go to Ikea with her thats how bad it is
That's a plus. The one at Leeds always stinks of hot dogs when we go there - as does much of the surrounding area.
Dont agree I think its the car park exit thats the best thing. You can get just as good meatballs without having to endure Ikea itself
I've smashed all the wine glasses during lockdown, if I'd known it was open l would have got there for 5am.
After our experiences with Ikea's "home delivery" system last year i"ll never set foot in the place again. Three failed deliveries with no notification. The fourth was actually on route but the driver admitted he was bringing the bed frame but no mattress. After telling them to stuff it after waiting a month for them to f**k up four times it then took us three attempts and another month to get our money back. Disgusting service and if you check their customer ratings you'll see that's the overwhelming norm.
I went today (Sheffield) with wife + 1 child. Got there 10:15 Got into store at 11:45, felt like there was only us in, letting in 40 at a time, stress free stroll no situations of congestion they’ve done a great job. Ikeas like marmite to most people, personally never had a problem and ideal for people like me who’s not very handy but can deal with a flat pack.
