    Without looking at other's comments I immediately thought "starling" - some are almost pure brown, others are really glossy - that's obviously a brown un

    I would say its a young starling.

    Nar then as anyone heard the cuckoo this year as I live in the country and have not heard it for at least 5 years.

    Heard one and seen one. About 3 weeks ago walking by the cemetery in Rothwell and a cuckoo flew onto a grave headstone, had a look around and then flew off. Couple of afternoons since then have heard one calling, could, of course, be the same bird I saw.

    Heard and saw my first last Wednesday near Lindholme while I was fishing. A female flew past me, followed by a male, which was smaller.

    And that includes all other things including comments relating to football events.
    It’s definitely not one of these which I saw (with a load of other people) last Sunday on Quarry Street in Cudworth.
