    A Murder in Mexbrough today, that’s the 3rd near this area in less than a week.

    They have arrested 2 people at the scene so hopefully it’s an open and shut case. Victim was only 28

    The Dearne Valley has many communities like Mexboro, places that we’re thriving places and great nights out includes: Wombwell, Wath , Swinton, Darfield, Goldthorpe, Bolton on Dearne. Their Social economical decline is all of course strongly linked to the destruction of the mining industry. Thankfully, the vast majority of the residents in these places are salt of the earth- type folk.

    I did The ‘ Golden Mile’ at Swinton a couple of times. Wombwell was a big favourite of mine. I worked at Houghton Main pit and there were loads from Wombwell worked there. We had some great works nights out, particularly the Christmas bash. Those indeed, were the days my friend.
