Talks about the EFL meeting Interesting what the intereviewer asks about what happens if we are relegated and Legaue One/Two don't restart next season. Hadn't realised that was a possibility. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08gllyw
So he's doing a round of interviews to hammer home that there's no brass. As everyone already knows, Woodrow and Mowatt won't be here next season. But maybe he's softening us up for a wholesale clearout? Also, this is the first time I've ever heard anyone from the club use the word 'actuate' in an interview.
With regards players leaving to trade out of any deficit, I don't think that's even a certainty, is it? We're the most financially prudent team in the Championship. Will the other teams have decent cash to spend on the likes of Mowatt and Woodrow? As he said, the markets changed. On the flip side, there might be advantages to be had from the situation. of course, if they left it would free up wage budget.
The situation sounds awful and it's imperative the plan is to get back to full stadiums for the start of next season.
Jesus Christ. Is the EFL being secretly run by a particularly intelligent infestation of hamsters? I cannot understand the fecking delay. There was either i) a banned substance in his blood/wee-wee/system or ii) there wasn't; corollary to either of these options, i) there is a valid explanation or ii) there isn't. Pandemic or no, I'm fairly confident I could have established the facts here in less than 5 months.
The EFL? Now, I'm quite happy to nod along in agreement when criticising them for numerous things, but in this case, it's nothing to do with the EFL. As far as I'm aware, it's an FA and UKADA thing.
If we get relegated it won’t be because of Covid, the EFL, Derby County, or Sheffield Wednesday although we may look to use those factors to save us. It’s possible that some clubs will not survive, purely because no business can survive without revenue. I’m as ambitious for the club as any fan, but I’m also aware that the name of the game could be survival at this time. If players have to go to ensure that we survive, then so be it.
There could still be an update as to why the club believes it's taking so long, whether there has been any communication or dialogue with the FA, whether the club or bambo has denied the allegation, how long it is expected before any decision will be made, what the FA's excuse is for such a long delay to what is a pretty simple case etc Not complaining about a lack of information here by the way but just saying something explaining the above would be nice because from the outside it looks like the FA charged diaby and the club went 'ok giz a shout whenever you want to do owt'
