I wouldn’t worry about footballers, the protesters have done their best to indirectly spread a killer disease around in as great a number as possible. Nice one.
It's down 61 from last Tuesday. Deaths have now dropped by 25% in a week. People in hospital down over 800 in a week. Things are improving all the time.
You do realise that most under 30s have ****** social distancing off... It’s the squad and the entire coaching staff. So you are looking at on average around 60 odd people. Maybe more if they have pulled in U23 players to bolster numbers. Who are all tested twice a week. With the protocols in place the risk is minimal and a basic track and trace would be able to isolate any potential carriers...
Yes i do realise that (not that they put much effort in in the first place) and that is the reason why we are still in this ###### position now. The parents of those in germany, France, Italy and Greece though frowned upon this and things were much different. These countries are now miles in front of us and their under 30s have been able to go out socially for almost a month now. So there you have it. @DEETEE
I’m aware of the numbers! I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove here. it’s highly likely that the number tested positive will be irrelevant (I believe I put that in my previous post). but until we know the details we can’t assume they’re irrelevant and brush them off as simply 0.5%. Because 4 of our first team squad could literally be all our decent players. The same could be said of some of our relegation rivals, 4 1st team players could be the difference between staying up or relegation. Or indeed at the other end of the table it’d have an even greater financial impact. It probably is irrelevant though
That is the fault of those men you saw though. Its been made absolutely clear that professional sport is an exception to the rule. There isn't a chance that all these men thought it applied to them too, they are just selfish ******* and football cannot be blamed for it
But there are differences. Footballers: Professional athletes Extremely fit Young Tested regularly Had money thrown at them to better enable isolation when not at work. General public: 0-100 years old Any and all illnesses Only testing if they think they've got it. No proactive testing No support to isolate when not at work. I think it's absolutely amazing that some people (not necessarily you) are critical of professional athletes working yet praise random people who congregate en mass to hold an illegal protest for black lives matter.
Still higher than when lockdown started across the board. Over 1000 still dying every week And the rate of decline is stubbornly high.
It's irrelevant whether they are professional footballers. What they are are fellow human beings who because of their age and fitness are the most likely to be asymptomatic so the most likely to pass it on. We know how infectious this virus is and we know that one can test negative but be positive a day later. #i have not supported any mass gatherings either.
I know you haven't which is why I said I wasn't talking about you. Their fitness clearly does make a difference too and they can be as asymptomatic as they want, they're being tested every few days whilst staying quite isolated outside of work.
How do you know what they're doing out of work? They don't work long hours either so lots of spare time. Like DEETEE proudly states those under 30 are hardly following lockdown
I've seen an interview with at least one club who explained that players are being given strict instructions on what to do during this period
We do indeed and any spread of the virus as a result of that is purely on the shoulders of the selfish tossers who have chosen not to follow those instructions
‘World beating’ track and trace system delayed until winter. Still Cummings mates have made a killing (both literally and figuratively)
