Aged 103. A true legend, lady and the epitome of the word class. R.I.P. Dame Vera. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53091856
When you think of the life she's had and how she was adored during the war, which, hard to imagine, was 80 years ago, it puts our little bits and pieces into some perspective. I'm now thinking to myself ... she was singing her well loved songs when Glenn Miller was still alive !!! Bless her for all she did for our country and its morale, RIP.
As Jeremy Vine said in his radio Show earlier. Surely that’s one statue the whole nation can get behind .
I don't often comment on RIP threads. Although every passing is sad most of them are more relevant to some than others but Vera Lynn was virtually woven into the fabric of the nation for 80 years. A very sad loss. RIP Vera and thanks for everything you did.
R.I.P. Dame Vera Lynn, she will never be forgotten and will always remain a legend and icon of world war history forever. Thank you to Dame Vera Lynn for everything she did for our country and helping us win and get through the war the way we did.
