    a mate of mine is on about getting one with that Alexa voice thing, are they any good, does he get a far better choice than his bog standard smart t.v and is it better than an android box ?. he has internet for his laptop anyway so that expense is a given . he's in his 70's, watchs films, footy and boxsets

    I dont have a smart tv so not sure what's on there but I can get prime on my virgin box. I use the firestick to put into my little telly upstairs or for ifollow in my main one so I could watch the qpr match.
    They're very easy to use though. I have a now tv one too and get a sky sports pass whenever I fancy watching that.

    How did you get ifollow on the firestick, I logged on through amazon silk entered the password then it said that I had to download the app, so I ended up mirroring it from my phone to the tv.

    You need to click desktop view, that little computer icon on the top right hand side. It works cos that's how we watched the QPR match.

    I was a bit unsure and got one as it was only about £25. My TV isn't smart (if it was, it would probably be pointless). It gives access to oodles of legal content including Iplayer, ITV Hub, 4od (Which I could never get to work on a PC without looping ads), UKTV and everything that you'd want. The Youtube app is amazing and I must have nearly completed it by now. It's easy to jailbreak should you want to install other external apps too and the IPTV platform I tested worked a treat. The only thing I had problems with was ifollow but I'd not followed RedHelen's advice in this thread on that. That said, I'm happy with that on my laptop.

    they are a super piece of kit, we have 3 TV's and each is equipped with a firestick now. IMHO they are great.

    I think it was already on the apps when we got the box in March. If not we must have dowon loaded it.

    Anybody want a Firestick , ive got a spare one £25 , bought in January 2020, used once. Had to get a 4k one when i got my new 4k telly !!
