It doesn't matter who he is, what he did or who he's played for. 11 league goals in 4 seasons. You cannot objectively say yes.
A natural goalscorer, whose career took off whilst with us and got him to be securely a championship quality striker, but, no, I wouldn't have him back because a) his wages will have increased a good deal; b) he no longer fits into our recruitment policy by age. Cauley Woodrow is already a quality natural goalscorer; Chaplin is progressing that way; Brown has some ground to make up in terms of goal return. We could do with one more who is the new Sam Winnall, but the old Sam Winnall is passe now.
If Woodrow leaves and we can afford him, I'd give him a chance if it was a one year contract with an option to extend for us.
Fletcher, Forestishairy and Morgan Fox all turned down deals and leave next week. So, I reckon if they get even a 9 point deduction applied this season, they will be foooooooooked.
I know he’s been a bit of a dick but I’d have him back in L1, no doubt about that. He’d be guaranteed 15 goals at least at that level. Wouldn’t have him at Championship level though these days.
No thanks. Like a number of players who move on and then go on to achieve little or nothing. Would rather give an opportunity to an up and coming starlet!
Maybe, if we lose Cauley. He’s been an arse but we know his quality if he can stay fit. We’d sign a 20 year old from the Icelandic 2nd Division otherwise
Similar argument could have been made against us re signing Adam Hammill, that didn’t work out too bad for us though. For the record I’d be against signing him, mainly for the points Tykester made
Agree Was a great striker for us but injury prone and warmed bench for years not sure he is the same player now.
I see your point. But I'd say there was more to Hammill's game than just goals - and his injury record was better from what I remember. It's a good point though.
Signed for our local rivals on the day of the funeral of a club legend, injury prone and only 2 goals in his last 31 games over the past two and a bit seasons. So it doesn't matter if you base it on his persona, fitness or scoring pedigree, it's a no from me.
I wouldn’t have him back, terrible record, no pace and doesn’t put a shift in. Yes he scored a few for us but people forget the premier league quality service from Hourihane
He’s certainly not turned out to be the £10 million striker their fans laughed about pinching off us, that’s for sure!
Think he was on 17k a week at Wednesday Made for life, or at least some way towards that Seems a wise move now, he won’t get close to that now I would imagine Short career and not a good time for your contract to expire
